Note:
Valpiana is a typical very spacious Tuscan farmhouse on two floors. From the large entrance hall still boasting the original stone floor, you enter the kitchen , the sitting room and the dining room. A stone staircase leads upstairs to a beautiful airy room which gives access to the six bedrooms and the bathrooms. The private well mantained garden offers a parking space for at least two cars.
The pool is open from May 18, till September 28.

Londa, the nearest village has everything you need for daily life: three small supermarkets , a bank , a post office, a pharmacy, a baker's, a greengrocer's , two restaurants and other retail shops. People are everywhere very friendly and welcoming. Barberino di Mugello race course is just 30 km away.Mugello , the part of the Tuscany where Londa is situated ,is famous for its Etruscan settlements and for its historical medieval towns and castles.There is always something interesting to see also on half day trips nearby.
Things that we like to do with children: 1) visit Poppi's zoo and its mediaeval castle in the Casentino and eat in the restaurant in front of the castle.2) go grocery shopping at" Il Forteto " between Dicomano and Vicchio if you want to taste the genuine food of the area .They offer their own cheeses, bread and meat. Let the children play in the wellprotected playground ,buy typical plants, good value for money( lavender, rosemary olive trees accorging to the season)in their well-stocked nursery,visit their cow sheds and stables ( closed on Mond and Tues.3)Order a take-away pizza at Pizzeria Fischio in Londa or at resdtaurant Il Colonnello ( 1 km far) and eat it al fresco in Valpiana lovely garden 4)Go fishing in Londa pretty lake an let the children play in the river before the lake . The river is very clean and picturesque.5) take them to Florence by train from the nearest station Contea,.They 'll love the experience . It's a commuter service which crosses the green countryside and the old villages ( 35 mins to Florence center.) Once there surprise them with the best icecream at "Perchè no?" .
What we adults like to do in Valpiana? Lie in the sun in the sunny garden , by the pool, cook a pasta with the herbs from the herb garden.Drive to the nearest designers' outlets. Visit Florence , Arezzo, Pisa, Lucca, Siena and San Giminiano and spend a day on the beach at Forte dei Marmi .Jogging & adventourous bike rides. Wine tasting!!
