Tranquil with spectacular scenery

We have just returned from a week at La Ramera and found the apartment a lovely peaceful place to stay for the week. The description and photographs of the apartments, grounds and surrounding area are totally accurate and reliable, with some lovely touches such as coloured lights in the pools at night. Davide the owner was on hand everyday to assist with any queries and was an extremely helpful, genuine guy. We were a little apprehensive about booking via email without leaving a deposit in advance, but our worries were unfounded, particularly as Davide was swift to reply to our emails ahead of our arrival. The apartment was small but extremely clean and well looked after (we squeezed 3 adults and 3 children into Pigato which was manageable but cosy!) The sourrounding scenary was beautiful, but would advise that you need to travel some distance each day to see places of interest - the tolls on the motorway can add up. If I would say anyting negative it would be the beaches. Alassio (sandy beach) has both public (free) and private beaches (very expensive) but at the height of the season were very crowded with only a very short distance to the water. Other beaches along the coast were similar in terms of crowds with shingle / small stones. Nevertheless, we would have no hesitation in recommending the area or La Ramera to couples or families alike. The children loved the pools (although fairly small) the views were spectacular (even better and closer than the photos on this web page suggest). Thank you Davide for providing such a tranquil place for us to stay - we would love to come back!
