The visitors of the Ballynahinch Estate, in the heart of Connemara, leave with the promise to come back. The Old Manor dominates the famous Ballynahinch Lake in a site steeped in history. Originally, these grounds belonged to the O'Flaherty’s sept, Lords of Connaught. Major figures have succeeded at the Estate’s head like Grace O'Malley at the 15th century (the Queen of Pirate of Connaught), Richard 'Humanity Dick' Martin at the 18th century and the Maharadjah Ranjitsinji at the beginning of the 19th century. At the beginning of the 18eth century, a castle was constructed by the Martin on the estate of Ballynahinch. Later, it was transformed in barracks and became the estate’s employee’s house under the Maharadjah. Henceforth restored, the Old Manor offers the opportunity to rent a 4 stars three-floor apartment. The totality is spacious and grouped around a courtyard with view of the lake, the Twelve Pins relief and the forest.

The Old Manor is very well located, surrounded by lakes, rivers, mountains and woods. Unique and private, it is only 1h drive away from Galway, 10 min away from Clifden, 15 min away from the white sandy beaches of Roundstone and 30 min from the beaches of Ballyconneely. With its tennis court, it offers all sorts of activities quickly accessible like horse riding, strolls, nautical sports, sea fishing, lake and river fishing (2 min away, it is possible to fish salmon and sea trout). Connemara’s Golf Club is 19 km away. The nearest pub is 2 min away by car. 10 min away you will find pubs in Clifden and Roundstone with traditional music, Irish atmosphere guaranteed.

  • To confirm your booking, a 30 percent deposit is required. The balance is due 6 weeks before the beginning of the stay. Payments can be made credit card (Visa or MasterCard only) or by bank transfer on our bank account. Cancellation: if for any reason you would have to cancel your booking, we will do our possible to move it at another date. The refund of your deposit will be done only if we can replace tour booking. Insurance: We recommend you to take holiday insurance in case of late cancellation, loss or damages to your personal belongings or personal accident.
