The apartment is located 2 steps away from St Suplice, in the Saint Germain des Près area, near restaurants and fancy shops. It is very comfortable, at the upper floor. Double orientation: East and West. Open outlook. Little terrace with view of the roofs of Paris and historical sites. All Parisian transports are nearby (subway, buses, RER, bikes, trains etc). The rental is exclusive for 2 people.
Olga was wonderful to work with and communication with her was excellent -- she travels some, so sometimes it would be a few days before I'd get a response but she was always helpful, polite and a perfect hostess to assist in getting our rental set up with her.
The apartment itself is incredible. It's high enough in the building (with an elevator) so you have views of St Sulpice, Notre Dame, the Pantheon and Sacre Coeur (in the distance) from the terrace and there's a small view of the Eiffel Tower out of the other side of he apartment -- not sure how you could ask for much more. The two bedrooms were great to have -- one with a queen bed, the other with a twin, but the two bathrooms were even better. I took the one with a shower, my wife took the larger one with a bath tub. By American standards, the bath tub, shower and sinks will be small, but for Paris it was a luxury to have so much space. The washing machine in the smaller bathroom was great to have as well since we were there for two weeks, but it's worth noting you need to drip/hang dry your clothes since there isn't a dryer.
We were there in the middle of the summer and the air conditioning worked great and was really a necessity (we're from Texas and no one here can handle a summer without A/C, even when the temps are just in the mid-80's).
The kitchen, dining and living areas were great too -- we can't think of anything negative to say, it was just a perfect place for us.
Madame Santos, the building manager, was wonderful too. She was so sweet and willing to help us with anything we needed.
The area is great too. Rue Cannettes, just a couple of blocks away, had great restaurants and shops -- look for Alfredo Positano, Chez Fernand and Chez Bartolo for meals and Dandy/Divine Parisian to shop. All of Paris has tourists, but Rue Cannettes has a lot of locals that go there for meals too, so it's not "touristy" in a bad sense.
You can walk all over Paris from Olga's apartment and the Metro stop is just a couple of blocks away. There are two groceries stores within a block and you'll find anything else you need nearby too.
I can't say enough good things about our stay here. We loved it and are looking forward to staying there on our next trip to Paris.
Olga's apartment was our home for a couple of weeks early this summer. We've rented apartments in Paris a dozen times and it is by far the best. The location is primo. Luxembourg gardens is a 5 minute walk as is the Grand Epicerie where we got dinner or picnic. The G20 grocery is 2 minutes away and a lovely boulangerie is just around the corner. Metro and bus stops are close as well. The apartment is just gorgeous. Beautifully decorated and so comfortable. It is nice to have TWO bathrooms with toilets. You can see Sacre Coeur and St Sulpice from the beautiful terrace where there is lavender and jasmine planted. There is a view of the Eiffel tower from the large windows on the other side of the apartment. I definitely will try to stay here on our next trip to Paris.
The apartment was wonderful and far exceeded out expectations. The layout of the apartment was good, bed was comfortable, very quiet and dark with the electric outside blinds down. It was great to have an elevator, the decor chic, antiques everywhere and the mirrors and art very tastefully placed. The 2 bathrooms were handy, amenities were nice, and the apartment was clean. It was somewhat confusing handling the money transfer to the owner who was friendly and communicated promptly. The building manager was friendly and was there to greet and also available at departure. She was available to work for you if you wished, however we did not need her services.
We would highly recommend this property to our family and friends. While we were there we entertained friends and enjoyed the space, the location, the kitchen and stemware, serving dishes, etc. Again. 5 Stars
My husband and I stayed here for ten days. It is a find in Paris - quite lovely and very spacious. The terrace all along one side is wonderful, with pretty views, and it gives excellent light and air. There are big windows on the other side of the apartment too.
It has TWO bathrooms - hard to find in Paris! They both have sinks with vanity space and storage, and each with toilets. One has a bathtub with a hand nozzle, and the other a shower stall. The shower stall was a tight fit for my six-foot-two husband, but he could do it! And we never ran out of hot water.
The main bedroom has a pocket door that separates it from the living area, or you can leave it open. The bedroom is VERY quiet, with heavy curtains and electric roll-down blinds that make it very nice & dark to sleep in. The daybed in the den would be OK for a child or a small adult. I think anyone over five foot five inches in height would not fit well in it, though.
There is air-conditioning. It seems to mostly blow in the main bedroom. I suppose if you ran it long enough the whole apartment would cool down, but if you close the sliding door and the hallway door, the bedroom cools off immediately, and so it’s good for sleeping.
The kitchen is fine for snacks and simple meals. It has a two-burner range and small oven, and a small refrigerator and dishwasher. There are dishes and cutlery and some pots and pans. The furnishings, sheets and towels, and ect, were all very nice. There were two small hair dryers and an iron. There is good storage for clothes. There is a clothes washer although no dryer.
There is interesting art and décor, it is very nice in contrast to bare corporate-apartment rentals.
The location is good, near many Metro stops and lots of shopping. It was very safe area. The street is narrow and quiet, with little car traffic. The only downside is that it is such a small street, Paris cabbies never knew where it was. So make sure you have it written down, with the zip code, in French, to show them.
The building is lovely, quiet, well-kept, with two (small) elevators. The building manager does not speak English, but she is very nice, and works hard to be helpful even with the language barrier.
The owner lives in Nice, so we communicated via email. But she was very nice and pleasant to deal with and she (of course) spoke excellent English. All financial transactions went fine.
I liked this apartment very much and hope to stay again sometime!
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely apartment. The apartment is comfortable, spacious and very nicely decorated. The thing that makes the apartment special is in fact the decoration. This is not an apartment decorated to be a vacation rental, but instead, an apartment decorated by the owner to be her second home with the goal of making it somewhere she wants to be. She has an excellent and confident eye and and has clearly succeeded in making it somewhere anyone would want to be. We loved it.
My husband and I rented many times in Paris and all around the world. This one was our best experience. This apartment is furnished in good taste, comfortable, and is strategically located between St-Germain and Montparnasse and walking distance to the Jardin du Luxembourg. Public transportations are steps away as are so many shops and restaurants like La Coupole or Les Deux Magots where we had an outstanding breakfast. No need for taxis, Air-France buses come to Montparnasse train station. The top floor makes it a quiet nest with a great open view over the roofs. We will return there without hesitation. Good quality price combination. One more detail: the building manager is a very gracious lady. We will recommand this apartment to our very best friends.
