IL BOSCO APARTMENT FOR 4 PERSONS.

We spent 12 days at La Tinaia, as a family of four with two girls (age 9 and 13) and rented one of the up stairs two bedroom units. And we would highly recommend it.

The property is nicely landscaped with a great pool, and large enough for kids to have fun. The location is up on a hill with a terrific view of the countryside.

Tina and Franco are terrific hosts, always approachable and available when you need them, but giving you the feel that this is your place to enjoy as a family. They welcomed having kids.

Although there are several apartments in the large Villa, we found that the property was very quite and relaxing, with people taking day trips and leaving the place empty if you wanted to have a day at the pool. The evenings were also quite with dinners out, so we rarely found that we were sharing the outdoor eating patio with anyone else, or perhaps one other couple or family.

The units have the necessary items, including Air Conditioning during hot times (for an additional / nominal fee).

We found the location idea for getting into Florence while still having a rural place to stay in, with a 15 min drive to Scandicci to get the tram and a comfortable 20 minute ride to downtown Florence. The tram arrived every 3-5 minutes at the station.

A car rental is a must for this location in our minds if you are planning to see places, and we found that AVIS allows you to book a year in advance without any deposit, and had very competitive rates.

The near by restaurant, 5 min walking distance up the hill, is great with a great outdoor courtyard to eat in. If you are planning to do a lot of your own cooking then a drive into Scandicci or Ginestra is required to get food.

Our daughter's grandmother came for a week and rented a one bedroom upstairs beside our unit. She did find the 37 stairs a bit taxing for her, so if people have issues with climbing up 37 stairs a few times a day, then make sure you request one of the main floor units at ground level (they'll be likely a bit cooler also).

The common kitchen on the ground level is great for preparing your dinners and eating in the garden area. The kitchen is well provisioned.

Great central location for visiting Lucca, Volterra, Sienna, Florence city etc
Tina and Franco met all our requests for internet, more pillows and laundry even though they didn't come as standard. The pool was a great facility and well maintained. The accomodation was clean and well thought out. We will definately stay there again
