Charming apartment

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I loved staying in this apartment. It has charming early 20th century details and was quite spacious for the 2 of us. We found it to be as advertised. It's location to sites, restaurants, and cafe's was perfect. Metro stations to lines 7 and 10 are within a 5-10 minute walk, as is the bustling Mouffetard. We prepared several dinners in the convenient kitchen and enjoyed relaxing in the apartment after long days of site seeing. Bruno is a great host and really was a part of our wonderful Paris experience..

At Home in Paris

  • 5 of 5

After having rented several apartments in Paris over the years, we can say without hesitation that this was our favorite. It is spacious and well-equipped, furnished in good taste, and just a pleasure to be in. Very importantly to us, the bed was very comfortable. The location is ideal on a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood, yet close to everything you need. The two Metro stops that are very near get you to most important areas without changing trains. And the Jardin des Plantes is a marvel within a few minute walk.

Our host was very welcoming and friendly offering his help and advice whenever we should need it. He met us at the apartment showing us how things work, and he had basics in the kitchen and bathrooms to start off our stay. He even arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport upon our departure.

Anyone who gets to stay here will be very happy. We plan to stay here whenever we're in Paris.

Great Rental

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Bruno's apartment for 2 weeks in December 2014. The apartment was spacious, clean and well-appointed. It was as described in the listing.

The location is excellent. It is on a quiet street, yet just steps to restaurants, a farmer's market, and shops. Within a couple of minutes of walking, one can access metro stops, grocery stores, bars ... just about anything one might want.

Although there are lots of options for public transportation, we walked daily for sightseeing, dining, shopping, etc. We loved visiting all of the historic sites and museums in Paris. A 6-day museum pass is a bargain if you intend to visit a lot of museums, and it allows you to bypass admission queues. We thought it was a treat just to walk the quaint streets of Paris, and it was always a pleasure to return to the apartment in the evening.

Bruno was an excellent resource. He met us on schedule when we arrived at the apartment on our first day. At that time, he gave us lots of helpful advice about access to dining, shopping and transportation. Bruno also helped us with taxi arrangements when we departed from Paris. It was very reassuring to know that Bruno was just a phone call away.

My wife and I have very limited French language skills, but we never found that to be a problem. In particular, Bruno has good mastery of the English language.

All in all, we loved our stay in the apartment and our fun times exploring Paris. We were happy with our rental, and we recommend it to others!

A VISITOR'S DELIGHT

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was as described by the landlord. Spacious, bright, clean and well maintained. Along with that the landlord was a very gracious, caring and trustworthy person. We felt right at home immediately and enjoyed every minute of our stay.

The apartment was convenient to most of the sites and attractions in Paris, allowing us to walk to most places we visited.

Bruno gave us help during our stay, guiding us to good shopping and restaurants. He also helped when we needed taxi service.

We are hoping to stay there when we visit Paris again.

So Chic! So Parisian! So Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

On previous visits to Paris, over the past 30 years, we have always stayed in hotels, generally in the rue de l'Universite area. They have been fine - charming, close to all the tourist action, not a bad option at all. But this time we rented an apartment, and we experienced Paris in a totally different way.

This apartment is in the Latin Quarter - it's a very residential neighbourhood, filled with a great mix of people of all ages, from young school children to retired elderly folk, all going about their daily routines. These are not tourists or visitors, but Parisians, which gives a totally different energy to the neighbourhood.

And becuase it is a neighbourhood where people live, there are lots of wonderful butchers, bakers, greengrocers - most days we brought the raw ingredients and cooked our own meals. Sure, there are many charming bistros and cafes around, but it's fun to buy some interesting cut of meat, some divine fresh vegetables, a good bottle of wine and make your own dinner.

The apartment is wonderfully provided with everything you could need in the way of kitchen paraphernalia. There's also an excellent dishwasher and washing machine. The Wi Fi is fast and efficient.

There are two sitting area - the dining room and the living room - which meant Kim could work away in one room and I could set up in the other, without us crowding each other.

It's on the fourth floor of a lovely old building with the cutest lift and easy stair access. The other residents are quiet and, if you happen to meet on the stairs, polite and friendly.

Staying here was so different from being in an hotel. Bruno welcomed us in a most charming, friendly manner and explained all about the neighbourhood and the apartment. It is such a light, elegant, beautifully decorated home. We so enjoyed just being there.

Two minutes from the front door is the Metro and also the wonderful Jardin Des Plantes, an elegant park. Right at the front door is a big stand of those Paris bicycles, if your'e brave enough to cycle in this bustling city.

We would head out to the main tourist areas - the museums and the cathedrals - but it always such a pleasure to come home to our quiet homely neighbourhood where we experienced the "real" Paris rather than the tourist version.
