Located on East 47th Street (between 2nd & 3rd avenues) this post war luxury building has a marble lobby, 24 hour doorman, 2 elevator banks, double glazing, central air conditioning and a basement laundry room. All apartments have combination tub / shower, working kitchen with full size cooker, microwave, refrigerator and ample closet space. Furnishing includes wall to wall carpeting, a queen size (double bed), a twin (single) size 2 seat sofa bed, a single roll away bed, bed side table and lamp, dining table with 4 chairs, coffee table, window blinds, cooking & eating utensils, towels and bedclothes. Equipment includes electric coffee maker, toaster, cable TV, CD stereo, alarm clock, blow dryer and telephone. Free internet. Please note that the rates posted on this site apply to 1 or 2 Guests. There is a $50 / night surcharge for each additional guests no matter what age. There is a $100 / night surcharge for NYC Marathon and New Years eve dates.

The apartment was as described and was clean. As regards maintenance, the plumbing needs attention, we could not turn off the cold tap on the handbasin fully so it dripped constantly; also the bath took eons to empty.
That apart the studio is well situated with a convenience store very near and there are plenty of eateries close by. We found it possible to walk to most of the places we wished to visit. Traffic noise was not a problem being at the back of the building. I would certainly recommend this studio apartment to a friend.

Overall this was a nice experience and I would consider staying there again. Just bring your own wash cloths if you need them. If you need anything, including an iron you have to request it during business hours. The internet only worked in some areas of the apartment.

The heat was fine. The maid service was good. The location was okay. The drug store on the corner met our grocery needs. The taxi rides to 5th ave and times square were approx 5 to 7 dollars.

Give it a try, it was fun.
