Disappointed

We enjoyed our trip to New York City, but the accommodations were disappointing. The good news is we did not spend a lot of time there. The picture made it look better than it was....I was aware that accommodations are expensive in Manhattan, but we felt that with a little maintenance the apartment we rented could have been much nicer....the blinds were bent, the bathroom needed grouting repaired, & the shower wasn't great. The wood floor could use some maintenance, & there were a few things that were missing like a phone that worked, a hairdryer that worked, tea towels for the dishes, & extra hand towels & face cloths. Although we quickly received good service for most of the things missing when we e-mailed, but we were still disappointed that the phone was not fixed. (I suspect it needed a new battery) The other repairs would not be expensive to make it into a very ok placed to stay.
The location was great, most of the doormen were very nice, the lobby was very nice, the fact that we could use our computer was good, the bed was acceptable (but the pillows could have been better) & the tv was great.
Owner's Response: This Guest checked into Apt. 7A on 12/05/09. She waited five days before informing us of various minor complaints. All were resolved the following day with the exception of the telephone which took longer as it required an appointment with telephone company repairman. It appears that Guest also failed to read all information published on the Holiday-Rentals site which indicates that:
1. We turn over clean with one set of towels per registered Guest, one set of bed clothes per bed and various starter supplies.
2. Our flats are self catering. This means that after check in we do not provide maid service, additional linens or supplies during the stay.
