Quinta Lua Azul provides an idyllic and unique retreat for rest and relaxation (R & R). For some that may be an activity packed holiday. For others, trips and/or guided tours to places of interest, beauty sites and good local restaurants. For those who are interested in a different sort of activity, short/informal and fun workshops are available for stress management techniques, introduction to Neuro Linguistic Processes (NLP) and personal development and life coaching. It also provides the peaceful setting in which to write that novel, finish that script or complete the business plan. And yet for others, a wonderful spiritual space in which to simply chill out, just be and live in the moment and experience inner peace watching stunning sunsets from the southwest facing veranda. By the way, Quinta Lua Azul is also an animal friendly zone.
Gas and electric included for holiday lets and excluded for long term rentals. No smoking within the accommodation. By prior arrangement, small domestic pets are welcome. During the brief and generally mild winter months, firewood for the wood burner is available at local rates.
Pedrogao Grande, a small market town that has every amenity. Shops, banks; post office; newsagent/tobacconist; cafes; restaurants; churches; museum; supermarkets; Health Centre etc. It has a beautiful central park with a children's play area and scenic walks to the Barragem du Cabril with its swimming lake; kayaking, fishing and picnic places and water-side restaurant serving excellent local food. There is a sports centre with gymnasium and olympic size indoor swimming pool. All this is peaked by a Tourism Centre that uses state of the art technology to help visitors see; hear and experience the most and best of this scenically stunning part of the real and peaceful Portugal with its quaint isolated mountain villages; beautiful old buildings, fascinating and unforgettable history.
Quinta Lua Azul lies in the peaceful hamlet of Mo Grande and yet is a one or two hour driving radius of some of the most important and dynamic historical sites in Central Portugal. WOW!
Tomar the one time Headquarters of the Knights Templar, Santarem an ancient river town en route to Lisboa (Lisbon), Fatima (our Lady of Fatima for those interested in Catholic religious history), Pombal a Knights Templar stronghold. Pombal temporarily became the capital of Portugal after the 1755 earthquake that partially destroyed Lisboa. The Marquis of Pombal re-built Lisboa to the architecturally magnificent city that it is today. Coimbra, thought by many to be the cultural centre of Portugal with it's magnificent architecture, historic University (not to mention its antique library that is purportedly protected by resident bats!) and a Teaching Hospital reputed by some to be the best in Europe. Just outside Coimbra are the remains of a Roman settlement. Penela, with it's mountain top Templar Castle and ancient winding cobbled streets. Serta with its Templar Castle. So much to see and do. Or - just chill out - stay here and enjoy being in the moment and do what you need to do!
