Lovely apartment, steps from the walled cite

  • 5 of 5

This apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay including a well equipped kitchen. The bath and kitchen (both on the main level) are modern, appear to be new and the entire apartment is sparkling clean. It is exactly as it appears in the photos which is not always the case with rentals. The views look out over the old city and both morning and afternoon light are quite nice. There is free parking on two adjacent streets and a large free lot three short blocks away if you should need it. Entrance to the old walled city is literally right across the street. The location could not be more convenient. The apartment is charming and welcoming and a very nice place to come home to at the end of a day spent wandering the city or exploring the Dordogne River valley towns. The nearby tourist information building has free wifi available 24 hours a day as do several local cafes. The owner, Jean-Claude, is most helpful and just a phone call away if you need anything. Don't miss the large market on Saturdays in the center of the old town. We hope to return and stay here again soon.

Sensational Sarlat

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to the Dordogne region. We loved the area and our accommodation. The close proximity to the town of Sarlat was excellent and walking up the medieval laneways to the apartment after dinner was wonderful and charming. Jean Claude was delightful, spoke good English and was most helpful and accommodating. We loved the apartment it was exactly as advertised and fulfilled all of our requirements. We would stay there again and would thoroughly recommend it to anybody looking for a self-contained apartment. Thank you Jean-Claude we also loved the Citron - so cool.

Charming Apartment - Sarlat

  • 5 of 5

My two adult daughters and I (ages 55, 32 & 24) thoroughly enjoyed the charm of this apartment along with the ambiance of the old city of Sarlat right across the street. The apartment on the third floor is spacious, bright, and inviting. The wood flooring is beautiful as is the circular staircase to the full loft, and the trunk-like beams upstairs are enchanting. The main floor has no curtains for privacy, but not particularly necessary. The loft has a darkening shade for the window and rack & fan for drying clothes after using the clothes washer. Kitchen is well enough equipped to cook in and the Saturday market was a fabulous way to gather amazing food for our dinner. The bed was very comfortable, however the futons were not really comfortable to sit on much less sleep on because of the lighter weight pads over heavy slates...they looked great though. We ended up stacking them on the floor upstairs for sleeping and that was acceptable. John Claude was friendly and responsive. He even provided a hot spot for us to gain internet access during our stay. The bathroom is small, but adequate. Even though the shower is a stand up, full size, the shower head is not mounted. The place was very clean. We may not have looked at this apt had we realized there were extra charges for bedding/towels and for an extra person which made it slightly beyond our budget...all worked out as we loved our stay...just be aware. Also, be sure to determine your check out time well in advance. All our other places were 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, but we found out our check out was 9:00 am the time arranged for the walk-thru & return of deposit. He allowed us an additional 45 mins, but it was quite a surprise. Ask ahead of time for instructions for the heaters on the main floor as it was a bit cold our first evening. Parking is on the street if you are able to get one close by, but there is a free small lot fairly close. I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone staying in the Sarlat area. It is perfectly located and wonderfully charming. Sarlat was one of our most favorite cities and the river canoeing was fabulous.

Owner's Response: hello, thanks for the appreciations, just a few thinks, the appartment is on the second floor, upstair is the bedroom, about leaving time, it depens if people are ariving after you, i've got a lady coming for housekeeping, it takes two hours to clean the apartment, if there is not i don't mind what time you 'are leaving, for the heaters you just have to ask, at the begining of the season the weather goes up and down, the apartment is provided for 4 persons, better for 2 adults and two childrens because of the banket futons, i always do my best to explain the way it is, just ask me. thanks for coming. Regards Jean claude

Special lodging in Sarlat

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was exactly as portrayed in the listing. It was immaculate and well-outfitted for a comfortable week's stay. M. Auboin was prompt, well-informed and efficient in getting me settled. I would recommend it to any friend who wanted a very convenient place to explore Sarlat and the entire surrounding area. There is a wonderful market, small on Wednesday and huge on Saturday.

There is no wi-fi at the apartment but there are places to connect in the town. A lovely view of the cite from the windows. A very lovely place to spend a week, or more.

SUPERBE SEJOUR ET APPARTEMENT

  • 5 of 5
