Wonderful, relaxing location

We had a wonderful time here. The property was beautiful, clean and cool and well fitted out. We particularly enjoyed sitting out and swimming in the pool, although sitting in the lounge in the evening was also very pleasant.
Customer service was excellent; we were given the details of a taxi company on the island, which picked us up from the airport at Malta (a great relief given that we got in late because our plane was delayed) and took us across on the ferry. The taxi company also had the keys to where we were staying, so we could go straight in without any further delays. For those arriving late on a Saturday evening this is to be recommended. Similarly, we were directed to the company for our hire car, and it was waiting at the house when we arrived; the paperwork was completed when someone dropped round on Sunday morning! Really, it could not have been made easier for us.
Gozo is a lovely place, beautiful and relaxing. The villages are very quiet but there is a lot of life in the capital. The roads can be quite basic and frightening to drive on at first but you get used to them pretty quickly. You definitely need a car to get around though, if you're staying for a week. People are helpful and friendly, and we found most things excellent value; we had a fantastic meal in one of the island's top restaurants for less than 40 pounds per head. There are good pubs and restaurants on the island, but it's not a place for those who want to party wildly at nightclubs; this is something we really liked about it!
We enjoyed sites like the Azure Window and the boat trips very much, although we went off peak and I guess it could be pretty busy during the height of the summer. We loved the temple remains in particular, but also had fun exploring the windmill. In terms of activity, Gozo is more about diving and boating than on-land activities, so best suited to people who either like that or want a quiet holiday.
As soon as I can afford it I will be heading back; it was a great holiday and very relaxing. I would recommend this property to anyone.
