Photos and Description of the Maine-et-Loire vacation rental 3 bedroom, 1 or 2 shower room each, sleeps 5 & 6

Catherine and Jean-François welcome you in three newly colourful restored barns, grouped round the courtyard of a large country house: LIris, le Tournesol and la Pivoine (blue, yellow and red). A very nice heated swimming pool is running now !( 28 degrees ) Come and enjoy the local wines and have a chat about the Loire Valley! L'Iris sleeps 5 in 2 double and one single rooms, Le Tournesol sleeps 6 in 1 double and 2 twin bedded rooms. The Pivoine (sleeps 5 ) 3 bedrooms (one double and a single), and a large ensuite double room with sofa, very nice shower room (with washing machine), separated toilets and an other small shower room and toilets. All the barns have beamed ceilings, are furnished with rustic furniture, and have central heating. We're looking forward to hearing from you! For further informations, please ask us.

    All is included : bedlinen and towels.
    Changeover day We have identified Saturday as our normal changeover days. However, we aim to be flexible and, if that's difficult, contact us with your needs.
  • During the high season, the Tournesol is 600 Euros per week, the iris550 and the Pivoine 650 all included.
  • Possibility to rent the 3 barns together : special prices. Ideal for families who want to spend their holiday together but want also have their independence and their own facilities.

We are well positioned to visit all the chateaux of the Loire, too many to mention individually. Water sports at Lac de Maine in Angers. Wine cellars (vins mousseux, vins d'Anjou, cabernet), golf, canoeing, good restaurants. Cointreau factory (famous orange liqueur), swimming pools nearby, football pitch, tennis 100m. Futuroscope at Poitiers. Cadre Noir (prestigious Cavalry School), beautiful zoo at Doue La Fontaine, miniature chateaux parc at Amboise; also there Clos Luce, Manor house of Leonardo de Vinci. Abbey of Fontevraud where you can see the tombs of Richard the Loin Heart and Alienor of Aquitaine. There are historic sites everywhere with only a few miles in between. The gites have been totally renovated and redecorated in June 1999 with the change of ownership.

We had a wonderful time staying in the Loire valley. We found L’Iris to be very comfortable and a really good base for exploring the region. We particularly liked:
Eating in a troglodyte restaurant
Kayaking on the Loire
Swimming at the Lac du Rillé
Eating at the Toque Blanche
Seeing the Musée des Blidés
Walking in le Forêt de Chandelais
Seeing the old centre of Angers
Drinking Côtaux du Layon
