Guestbook comments from the manager

"What a View" from the large rear deck! We had a wonderful stay in the quiet restful country side of Virginia. Horseback riding, soaking in the hot tub, playing billiards & visiting the town have made this one complete week. Leon & Sheila.

Our stay were was TOP SHELF, from the view, all the things to do in the house. The best part of our stay was your honest hospitality and your generous amount of time spent with Karen & Chris with the horses. Thanks! Jim & Chris.

WOW! What a great place! The view alone is worth the price of

admission. During the entire week we never tired of that. I have stayed at many VRBO locations, several of which I have rated 5 stars, so this place I would have to rate 6 stars. It's private, clean and provisioned better than any other. My wife and her sister loved the horses, I loved the pool table & biking on the beautiful back roads in Virginia. The hot tub was a real asset after cycling 20 miles. The owner/host is committed to providing a great experience for his guests.

We really appreciated his gracious hospitality.

A Wonderful Place

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed here for one week in early December and had a wonderful experience. Harold met us at the house with a warm welcome and made sure that we were settled in comfortably. We had been traveling a lot and the Christmas decorations in the house brought us a much needed holiday feeling and comfort. The kitchen had everything we needed -- it's nice not to have to buy basic spices for a one week stay -- and we enjoyed breakfast each morning watching the sunrise. Three of the bedrooms and two bathrooms are on the main level with the common areas, which made it perfect for our less mobile family members. The hot tub on the deck was FANTASTIC with the cold air and the beautiful scenery.

Wonderful in every way!

  • 5 of 5

A group of my friends along with my mum and Dad rented Reddish Ridge for a long weekend to celebrate by 30th birthday. We had a fantastic time. We were greeted on arrival by Harold who showed us everything - we were very impressed by the house which looks just like the pictures and better - it was extremely clean and tidy, and luxuriously furnished. The kitchen had everything you could want and there was even wine and other goodies to greet us.

Stay here! Wonderful house & horses & fab owners!

I like to horse ride and Harold took me on a great trail - both horses are great - very gentle and responsive - but with a lot of "go" if that's what you want. Harold extremely generously spent time teaching my friends and my boyfriend's 12-year-old daughter the basics and they had a blast, they're all converted horse lovers.

The position of the house was great too - not just for the lovely view, but it's also close to some great trails - we did a 10 mile hike. Staunton is also a great little town with some really nice restaurants and fun shops. My folks went to charlottesville for the day and loved it too.

All in all - Reddish Ridge was great, I would completely recommend it to anyone. Thanks to Harold and Sandy for making our stay so awesome!

Staying at Reddish Ridge was "rest for the soul"!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had an amazing time at Reddish Ridge!

Harold, the homeowner takes great care to make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive and take a personal tour. He is readily available to work with family members who desire to ride the horses. The kitchen is well stocked with just about everything you need for preparing delicious meals to include spices and condiments. The home is well suited for large families and has something for all ages.

There was so much to do on the property; from exploring the 45 acres surrounding the house on foot or horseback to relaxing in the hot tub under the beautiful sky; shooting a game of pool or darts to gazing at the rolling hills of the Virginia countryside; or just curling up with a good book in front of the fireplace.

The home is located in the Shenandoah Valley within a short drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Drive, the Appalachian Trail, several vineyards, caverns, and Massanutten ski resort. (just to name a few) We also toured the town of Staunton and thoroughly enjoyed the rich history of the area.

Thank you for a vacation that is well worth repeating!!

Wonderful Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

This was one of our top vacation rental homes, made that way because of the ammenities and location afforded to us at Reddish Ridge. The property lended itself to outdoor activity enjoyed by all of us. Ages from 13 to 50 equally appreciated the trails, horses, game room, comfortable family room and fireplace, and hot tub. House was large enough to provide privacy when needed and the living area and kitchen was large enough for two families to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration. The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed to prepare a large Ham and all the sides. Harold was wonderful in helping us ride when we wanted and we will definetly make a trip back in the future.
