This charming studio is located in the heart of the Quartier Latin, at the bottom of the rue Mouffetard. The area, historical and picturesque, enjoys of a hustle and bustle both touristic and very Parisian. Panthéon, Luxembourg, Jardin des Plantes, Val de Grâce, Gobelins, Arènes de Lutèce, the Seine's banks... are accessible by foot in a few minutes and surrounded by a setting ideal for a walk. The elevated location (8th floor out of 8 with lift up to the 7th) brings an absolute quiet and, thanks to a large bay window, a very nice and unobstructed view of the roofs and monuments of Paris (Panthéon, Val de Grâce, Montparnasse, the Eiffel Tower, ...). All the best shops are very close (markets of Mouffetard and Monge, many cafés and restaurants). Underground (Censier-Daubenton), bus and Vélib are the answer to all your transportation needs.
The brightness, the comfort, the condition and the equipments are the studio complementary assets.
This was our second stay at this unit. The small studio is amazingly well equipped -- everything you might need is there. It's also nicely decorated and is very clean. The location is great, near the upper end of Rue Mouffetard, and close to the Censier-Daubenton and Les Gobelins metro stations. Mr. Marsault is friendly, helpful, and available. He recommended two very good restaurants, both only a few meters away from the apartment: Verse Toujours and Le Papillon.
This is a great studio in a wonderful neighborhood. The studio is on the 8th floor (elevator to the 7th then an easy stairs to the 8th) of a very quiet building. There are neighbors around, but I heard very little noise and the ones I met at the elevator or gate were very pleasant. The studio has absolutely everything to make your stay enjoyable. It has a small but very functional kitchen area, with a toaster oven that works very quickly (I heated up a few quiches and things, and it worked perfectly well), and two heating rings that are also very efficient. As far as kitchen ware there is everything you would possibly need. In fact, I would be thinking "oh how odd they don't have X" and then I'd find 2 or 3 of them... It's just a question of looking around. The bed is new from Ikea and is very comfortable. It is also really easy to pull out. The curtains darken the room perfectly well, in fact, with such a quiet building I once slept in far too late! Bathroom has a shower that is small but great water pressure.
The neighborhood is in my opinion one of the best for being in Paris. At the local level, there are several very good, non-touristy restaurants with excellent quality, prices and service. You are literally 3 minutes from the Metro line 7 (which for me is essential: it gets you down to Opera for the RoissyBus, to the center, etc.). Also, since the apartment doesn't have a washer, there is a laundromat across the main street, a 1 minute walk. I didn't have to wash clothes but I checked it out, prices were reasonable and it didn't look crowded. For buying daily items such as groceries there are 3 supermarkets within a 5-7 minute radius. Also, across the main street there is a large pharmacy (Monoprix) if you need any toiletries, shampoos, etc. And most importantly: you are just a few minutes from the wonderful neighborhood Mouffetard, which is really animated and a nice place to wander at anytime of day. There is also a postoffice, a bank and the best boulangerie in Paris: La Boulangerie du Monge, that has won who knows how many awards for different breads.
The owners are very pleasant and were so accommodating. My US flight was delayed 6 hours and they still arranged to meet me at the apartment. The apartment was also spotless and wonderfully warm. The owners have designed a very useful informational guide about the neighborhood, they really thought of everything! It's a nice quality studio that I recommend without reservations.
The studio in very well situated, in the heart of quartier latin. Nice neighbourhood, not too many tourists.
The studio is very clean and well maintained and facilities covers almost everything you need and more. Nice large french windows. Very quiet building. Many good restaurants in the area, go and eat well e.g. at Le Refuge du Passé! Go and live like an parisian and enjoy your stay.
The owner was very nice and helpfull person and he speaks english pretty well. Thanks again Jean-Jacques! We'll most likely come back.
My girlfriend and I arrived to the apartment where Jean-Jacques was waiting with a smile and handshake. He was able to help us with restaurant recommendations, laundry locations, and local events and things to do. Our favorite part was the balance between being near the tourist things to do, while providing us with a local neighborhood away from the tourists. While the apartment was small for American standards it was perfect for singles or couples on vacation. The kitchen and bathroom were well supplied with all the necessary essentials. He even had travel literature for you to look through and get ideas. Metro stations are within a short walk, but those willing to can easily walk to Jardin du Luxembourg without breaking a sweat. The best part of the apartment is the ability to open the window doors after a long day of sight seeing, letting the cool night air in, and listening to the sounds of Paris sweep in. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to see real Paris.
We arrived to a warm welcome from the owner who was very helpful. The apartment was above our expectations, very charming, comfortable and clean with great views. It had everything we needed for the week. From there we ventured out every day of the week to the local and distant sites. The area is full of delightful markets and shops of all descriptions and the restaurants are superb and very affordable. Public transport is very close with buses and the metro nearby. Our favourite places to eat were the places where traditonal French food is served because it is the best and the hospitality was exceptional. We recommend this apartment for singles and couples.
I was very pleased with my stay at this apartment and would be happy to return.
