THE PLACE TO STAY WHILE IN ASHEVILLE

Asheville Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5-7)

Azalea Mountain Cabin was built in 1900 and renovated from top to bottom in 2001. The cozy cabin is on an acre of grassy, partially wooded property. There is an outdoor picnic table, a large front porch and a spacious rear deck with a hot tub. Both areas have outdoor furniture. The cabin has an outdoor fire area as well as an indoor fireplace. There is a full kitchen amd laundry room. Dishes, pans, linens and most everything else is provided for your comfort.

One bedroom has a queen bed while the other has a bunk set-up with a twin over a full size futon. the living room is also a full size futon. Both futons have inner spring matreses.

This is an in-town location giving quick access to all Asheville has to offer plus the serenity and privacy of being in the country.

Asheville is a year-round community which offers lots of activities for the whole family. We are pet-friendly, though we do charge $8.00 per pet/day; this helps defray the costs associated with maintaining our cabin in like new condition while allowing you to have your pet on vacation.

Please call or e-mail to check that we can accommodate your time schedule.

If you are a survivor of Katrina Housing might be available in my cabin, please call to check

Guestbook comments from the owner

I've placed a hard cover guest book in my cabin about a year ago so I would have a nice record of all my wonderful guests. For this reason there have been no recent entries.

Relaxing

We spent two wonderful nights in this cozy cabin. It was very peaceful yet close to downtown, lots of room for the dog to run around. Loved the hot tub and the owner was very accomidating!

Poorly maintained cabin put a damper on our vacation. Would not recommend!

  • 2 of 5
We ended our stay at the Azalea Mountain Cabin early because the cabin was not well cleaned before we arrived. An abundance of dust balls and cobwebs in each room makes this cabin feel very unclean. I've rented several cabins in resort communities, but I've never stayed in one where I felt the need to clean as soon as I entered the rental. The hot tub had dirt/sand in the bottom of it and the water was cloudy. The bathtub had mold growing along the grout and the molding around the ceiling of the tub had black mold growing on it. Look closely at the bathroom picture (if it hasn’t been taken down yet).

During our stay we saw five different dogs in the yard and three different cats. You need to walk carefully to avoid walking in any feces. A beagle defecated on the front welcome mat our first morning there. Constant dogs and cats in the yard required us to keep our dog indoors for a majority of our stay. The neighbors are very close by and they aren’t very friendly. The homes in the area look like they’re about to cave in. If you’re looking for privacy look on for another Asheville rental.

The trashcans in various rooms were not emptied for us, and it’s always great to find a previous guest’s Band-Aid in your master bedroom receptacle. The half-full bottle of Astroglide lube under the master bed was a real plus too. It was next to the golf ball sized dust balls that were all under the bed. We did our best to overlook all the issues, but we decided we’d be more comfortable elsewhere and left early. Our stay was in December of 2013.

Owner's Response: Spoke with Mr. Reigal after he arrived. Asked him if everything was OK; he said yes. I said to call if I could help him in any way. He never called.
Yes it is a residential suburban neighborhood, neighbors have pets. I have just one acre, not fences to retain animals. There are also bears, wild turkey and many other non domestic animals who frequent the property just 6 miles from downtown Asheville.
He had to look through 4 wastebaskets and could find one band aide to complain about.
I am proud of the cleanliness and neatness of my unique cabin. My neighbors are nice people, we wave to each other and mind our own business.
If you have read this far, I look forward to receiving an email from you to book this restful cabin.

Great cabin!

Myself and 2 of my friends (and my 2 dogs!) came here for a girls weekend and we had a fantastic time. The cabin is adorable and perfect for a weekend getaway. The hot tub and back deck were great, as was the front porch. We lucked out with beautiful, warm weather in March so we spent most of our time outside. The TV was kind of small but we definitely did not go up there to watch TV so it wasn't a problem! Very close to downtown Asheville. We are already planning a trip back to the cabin in the fall!

we had a very pleasant, very relaxing five days at the very lovely azalea mountain cabin. not only is the place in a great location, it's also extraordinarily homey & comfortable. while we most liked the modern amenities (the hot tub, the fully updated kitchen) in an authetically rustic setting, mabel - the plott hound - liked the wild rabbits & the near-by french broad dog park best. AND, as the previous renters have mentioned, bert is BEYOND WONDERFUL to work with; case in point: we left some clothes in the dryer at the cabin and were met when we got home with an e-mail from bert asking about our address so that he could FedEx our belongings! we will definitely stay at the azalea the next time we're in asheville. thanks, bert!

...also, on an unrelated note: after spending the majority of our time in asheville lounging on the futon while watching indie films & british comedies, we HIGHLY recommend orbit DVD in west asheville. just don't forget to bring your own DVD player!

We enjoyed our stay at Azalea Mountain Cabin. Mr. Gaines was very easy to work with. Cabin is convenient and rates are very reasonable. We will most certainly stay again in the future!

We had a great time at the cabin. A very nice change from the usual hotel room. It was quiet and very relaxing but still close enough to town for everything we wanted to do.
