EXPERIENCE THE REAL SPAIN! La Calera “The Limekiln House” is a newly renovated finca with 4 integral apartments now providing beautiful holiday accommodation. We are in Teba, a white pueblo steeped in Moors history and centrally located to for trips to Seville, Granada and Ronda. La Calera sits on its own offering tranquillity and stunning views of the surrounding countryside and yet only a 5 minutes walk into the village. The house has a lovely private pool in a fantastic position with 200sqm of terraces. Gazebos, sunbeds and parasols are provided on which to soak up the sun and unwind, followed perhaps by an evening stroll into the village. The Guadalhorce lakes are only 12 kms from the house and a natural beauty spot for swimmers and nature lovers. The area is a haven for birdwatchers and walkers. Brand New 1 bed Apartment with ceramic tiled floors. This Apartment has a fully fitted kitchen with fridge, microwave, hob, toaster and plenty of kitchen workspace. The living area has a large sofa bed, dining table and French doors that extend onto the balcony. It has a double bedroom with a large double bed and wardrobe and dresser with a window with spectacular views. The Apartment has ceiling fans over the bed, heating, music system and satellite TV. The bathroom has a separate shower unit with toilet and sink. The balcony has a table and chair set for 'al fresco' dining. The Apartment is light and airy and offers stunning views. Air conditioning is optional at 50€ per week. Apartment one is adjacent therefore a family of 8 can be accommodated with shared balcony.

We are in Teba, one of Inland Andalucia´s historic “white pueblos”, nestled into the mountains with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. It is famous for its Castle of the Stars and has a very interesting history stretching back to Roman times. Teba is a 50 minute drive Northwest from Malaga airport and centrally located and within easy reach to the beautiful towns of Ronda and Antequera and the famous cities of Seville, Cordoba and Granada are just over an hours drive away. Only 12 kms away is the Andalucian Lake District, a beautiful area with a nature reserve that has 3 large crystal clear, turquoise lakes. The carp fishing is fantastic and pedaloes can be hired. It’s a weekend holiday destination for Andalucian people and boasts lakeside restaurants, cycle trails, hiking, camping and mountain climbing. However many people choose to just picnic and relax there. Also in this area is the famous El Chorro Gorge where the film “Von Ryans Express” was made.

Guadahorce Lakes/Climbing/Mountain Biking: Only 12 km for the house is the famous 'Andulucian Lake District'. It boasts three beautiful lakes where you can swim, canoe or fish. It is ideal for mountain bikers and hikers. There are plenty of walking routes around the lakes and the famous El Chorro gorge where climbing is very popular.

Bird watching: This area is a Haven for Bird watching. One of our guests said that there are not many places where you can just lie out on the terrace and see Griffin Vultures, Bonelli´s Eagles, Chough and Blue rock thrush with no effort. Bird Watching tours can be arranged around the Ronda area with Ornironda headed by Peter Jones.

Historical Places to Visit: Teba is ideal located for day trips to to visit the historical towns of Ronda, Antequera and Osuna which are only 35 mins drive away. The cities of Seville, Granada and Cordoba are all 1 1/2 hours drive away or easy to get to from the nearby Bobadilla mainline station. Of course should you wish to see the coast we are only a 60 mins drive away.

Other Activities: We are a haven for Bird Watching. Tours are available nearby.

Beautiful appartment in a stunning location

We had a fantastic week at " La Calera ". The appartments have been renovated and decorated to a very high standard and were spotlessly clean. The position of La Calera is perfect as you feel totally away from it all yet you are walking distance from Teba which is a delightful traditional Spanish village. The views are truly amazing!!! and the terraces beautiful with lots of space . The appartments were perfect for renting together with our friends. We all had a wonderful time and our teenage children particularly loved the pool and had lots of fun at the lake jumping and diving off the rocks. Thankyou Mark and Lindsay for making us feel so welcome and providing us with everything we needed. You have thought of everything and created a very special place to stay !!!

We arrived in the dark, but first thing in the morning realised that the view was panoramic!
The area was very quiet at night, the village was friendly and easy to drive to from Malaga, and Mark and Lindsay were very helpful with our questions.

Using Teba as a base we travelled to El Chorro for rock climbing, as well as to Ronda, Antequerra (and the Flamingos), Seville.

The apartment was airy and warm (important in February), and the well-kitted kitchen was a nice size for two people cooking together. We will definitely come back here on our next trip to Spain.
