‘Labyrinth’ studio is located near the south coastline, within a walking distance from the enchanting sandy beaches of Damnoni and Plakias. Built within an olive grove of 6000 m², it offers a home like privacy and relaxing atmosphere. Labyrinth studio is only 1 1/2 km away from the beach of Damnoni and Plakias, the latter being a beautiful village with all necessities, such as convenience store, super markets, in general anything someone would need to enrich his/hers vacations. The owners Fotis and Katerina, born with the Cretan hospitality, give their best taking care of their guests personally, making sure that their stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as it can be. Labyrinth studio is open from April until November.

Plakias is a village on the south coast of the Greek island of Crete, in the Rethymno Prefecture, about 35 kilometres (approx. 21 miles) south from the city of Rethymno. It is surrounded by mountains to the north and the Libyan Sea to the south. The area of Plakias has a particular climate, with warm, Mediterranean temperature. In summer the north winds from the mountains bring to the area an invigorating coolness. The clarity and brilliance of the atmosphere is so intense that it can even affect you emotionally. Plakias has a 1300 meter long sandy beach and several smaller coves within a walking distance. Thousand of species of wild flowers, aromatic plants and herbs, together with lots of endemic or migratory birds complete the heavenly synthesis which man has left virtually untouched for almost 7000 years. Several travel agencies offer a big variety of excursions around the island, as well as car rentals and money exchange. The place has a natural beauty.

We were made very welcome ,even tho we arrived at 1am.The owner and his delightful wife were very helpful,and provided extra pillows .We found a car to be very useful.
The appartment was clean and comfortable,and as described .We would be very happy to recommend this place to friends and family.There is plenty of choice re tavarnas ,and we found the Cretons ,both friendly and helpful

Lageangabe passt, auch wenn der interessante Teil von Plakias eher 2km entfernt ist. Wer gut zu Fuss ist, kann 6 Strände, Plakias und Damnoni erreichen. Wer mehr will, sollte unbedingt ein Fahrzeug mieten. Das Solarium habe ich nicht gesehen, aber wer braucht sowas auf Kreta? Die Vermieter waren i.d.R. nicht vor Ort, aber immer erreichbar und äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch während der Vorbereitung des Urlaubs wurden alle Fragen schnell beantwortet. Der Service umfasste alles wie in einem Hotel abgesehen natürlich von den Mahlzeiten. Das Zimmer war sauber, gemütlich eingerichtet und die Einrichtung war bis auf wenige Kleinigkeiten (TV-Fernbedienung, Schalter der Kochplatte) gut in Schuss.
Tavernen gibt es in Plakias unzählige, in Damnoni 3, wobei insbesondere die vom Studio aus erste links an der Straße nach Damnoni sehr empfehlenswert ist. Dort nicht nach Karte bestellen, sondern in die Töpfe schauen!
Fazit: sehr zu empfehlen, sofern höchstens 1 Kleinkind (sonst könnte es eng werden) dabei ist und ein Fahrzeug zur Verfügung steht. Familiäre Athmosphäre, gute Betreuung und für südländische Verhältnisse alles in sehr gutem Zustand.
