Salzburg Vacation Rental apartment: Salzburg

We have just arrived back from our stay in Salzburg and already we are discussing when we can return, when we do we will definitely stay in the same apartment, it is lovely.

The photos do not do the apartment or the beautiful historic building it is situated in justice. The building is brimming with character, the corridors and stairs leading to the apartments are filled with unique and quirky ornaments, pictures and furniture pieces. The building is very obviously loved by the owner, Gabi, who has evidently put a great deal of thought into the renovation and decoration.

The apartment itself is fitted with all modern facilities, lovely shower and fully equiped kitchen. The bed is very comfortable, which I found to be much needed after a hard day sightseeing! In terms of decoration, somehow Gabi has managed to create a modern feeling apartment without compromising history and character - it is beautiful.

The location is ideal, right in the heart of the old town. It is so central that we found it was very easy to pop back to the apartment during the day sightseeing if we had forgotten anything or needed to freshen up (the number of stairs to climb are obviously a downside but it keeps you fit and any house in Salzburg would have the same design).

Gabi was very friendly and accommodating. We arrived in Salzburg center at 10:30am and, despite the website saying that check in was not til 4pm, the apartment was ready for us. The same went for checking out - there was no real rush for us to leave which we really appreciated.

All in all, we loved our stay and will recommend the apartment to anyone and will hopefully return one day. Salzburg itself is a beautiful city with too many attractions to mention here. One of the plus points is that the majority of the attractions are so close together that many can be seen in the space of a few hours without too much walking. If you do go to see lots of sites I would definitely recommend purchasing the 'Salzburg Card' which allows free entry into the sights of the city for 24 Euros (this soon pays for itself if you plan what you want to see).

I booked this apartment for a holiday next June. Shortly afterwards Ryanair announced that they were stopping flights to Salzburg two days after I had booked my flights.
I contacted the owner Gabrielle who was very understanding and immediately refunded my booking deposit in full. I had concerns that this might not be the case and was very relieved and pleased with the decency of the owner.
Hopefully I will get to stay in one of these apartrments in the near future.

This apartment is just lovely. We got the one closest to the stairs.
The location is unbeatable. No hotel is better placed than this apartment, right in the middle of the historical center, but in a quiet street. Everything is close to it: the main sites, the main shopping street (the house where Mozart was born is there), Demel, ATM machines, plenty of places to eat. You can go to the grocery store, Bila, and buy ingredients to cook at home (and you will: the kitchen is completely equipped – no stove, though). There is a table with four chairs.
Besides being ideally located, the apartment is extremely comfortable and elegant. Even though the building is historical, the apartment was completely renovated. There is a leather sofa and a suede chair, great for resting at the end of the day. The LCD TV is big. There is plenty of space to put luggage.
The bathroom is spacious and brand-new. The shower can be very hot (perfect, since we were there in winter). There is a washing machine and a dryer.
The only caveat of the apartment is the four flights of stairs. However, it’s totally worth the (little) effort. Also, there is free wireless high-speed internet.
We arrived by train. We took a bus in front of the station. The stop is the first one after the bridge and the apartment is at most 200 m from there.
The owner, Gabrielle, met us in the front of the building as arranged. She took us to the apartment, which was really clean. She was most gracious and answered all our questions about the apartment and the city.
We would highly recommend this place to our family and friends. We were in a trip to Switzerland, Austria and Czech Republic, and it was the best place we stayed on. We miss it already!
