2 bedroom Palm apartment, 9th floor, on the beach

Last time we saw the palm it was a building site - so it was pure luck (and a bit of asking around) that led us to this great appartment. We wanted to avoid the busy 'resort' hotels during half term (not to mention the inconvenience of having the whole family sleeping in one room) but a freak of genetics means that our two children are both half-mermaid. This means that they have to be immersed in water within minutes of waking up each day and we couldn't consider staying anywhere without direct access to the beach and a selection of pools!

This apartment proved spacious and comfortable with a great balcony with 'the view' as advertised that we never became tired of. Beach is outside the door and there are shops, a bakery and a number of pub/restaurants and 3 nice pools (with lifeguards) in this and the adjacent (identical) buildings. All the attractions / malls we visited were generally a 20 DHS cab ride away (taxis always available outside) so a hire car would have been a waste of time and money. John and Heinke met us at the apartment and gave us a quick tour - before leaving us with a helpful folber of info and takeaway menus etc. Recommend the apartment for small family groups (the owners live there and have their own belongings there - so probably not toddler - friendly!) or couples. We actually had 3 adults and 2 kids and utilised the maids room as a 3rd bedroom- which was fine. We also used the owners canoe all week (both agreed for a small extra fee).
