Situated on the Mizen Peninsula, a mountainous ridge pushing into the Atlantic Ocean, famed for the Fastnet Rock Lighthouse. An area of wild beauty with rocky inlets and ocean views contrasting with lush valleys and flower filled hedgerows. The Peninsula is studded with a number of small towns and villages each with its own distinctive character. The climate is mostly mild the year around but its western seaboard location brings a little 'softness' at times. West Cork has an outstanding reputation for local produce and boasts numerous fine restaurants.
Other Activities: kayaking, traditional music, archaeology
Golf: Ireland is regarded as being one of the greatest golfing venues in the world. West Cork has its share
but no Championship courses. Bantry and Skibbereen both have 18 hole golf courses and Schull,
only 2.5 miles away has a small but challenging 9 hole links.
