Angela, just a quick note to tell how much we enjoyed the cottage in Rossbrin. The location was excellent and the house first class. I can't remember a more relaxing break at a time when we most needed to relax. The setting of the house was perfect and the finish and facilties inside was just like home. We particularly appreciated and liked the very well equipped kitchen, fishermen calling to the door selling fresh prawns was an unforeseen bonus! My compliments also to the very tasteful decoration, whihc inside and out the place oozed restful!.Thanks for a great break and we hope we can find time again to take it again, perhaps for a longer period.

A very special, particularly tranquil and high quality home. Just back from a very enjoyable week. What you see and read in the reviews and pictures in “what you get” and everything is “just right”. You have a high degree of welcome privacy and the style, décor and space are really top class, not to mention the clear thought that has been given to every detail. It provides an excellent location for exploring all West Cork has to offer. For family entertainment, you can hire a small motor boat from Schull to explore the bay and the islands, enjoy one of Ireland’s greatest beaches at Barley Cove, go sea-kayaking and a whole lot more. And if the weather is not playing, then you are living in a wonderful house, with real class and comfort, where you can read, enjoy a meal, use the wi-fi and satellite TV or have some quality family time in style. Highly recommended.

Snug by Rossbrin Cove, Stone House is the ideal get-away and "base-camp" for exploring West Cork. Ideal for multi-generational stays where Family members/Friends can venture forth on their own, and meet to swap stories in the comfort of this lovely home.
The Owner: Angela is extremely conscientious about communicating in a timely fashion and providing any info you may require. Truly a pleasure to do business with.

The Home: I wish I could do justice to this beautiful property. From the positioning of the house on the grounds to provide exquisite views, to the "top of the line" amenities and furnishings, your will love it all. Bedrooms provide privacy yet easy transition to living areas. As the song says..."To sit beside a turf fire in the cabin" the warmth and magic of Ireland will engulf you.

The Grounds: Graveled drive up to spacious graveled parking area. Well tended lawn bordering Rossbrin Cove and neighbor's upper pasture. You will get to know the grazing horses, as well as anxiously await the visits from the foxes who wander from the thickets on the hillsides. Tea as the sun comes up or a beverage of your choice watching the moon rise over the ruins of Rossbrin Castle.

The Area: Ballydehob (2 KL), Schull (5 KL) provide for local shopping, Pubs, Farmers Market and the friendliest of locals. Day trip options abound. Cork, Blarney, Cobh, Kinsale, Mizen Head Killarney & Ring of Kerry are just a few
( camera a must).

Driving in Ireland: Where is Saint Christopher when you need him?

Overall: If you are reading this review you are already considering a stay at Stone House...Go For It. My family and I have memories that will last us a lifetime. We hope to get back to Cork Co. for some serious genealogical research and will definitely return to Angela's property. If the scale for rating is up to 5 Stars...Stone House is rated 6 + Stars.

Heaven on earth

What a peaceful place! We stayed in the house last week of February 2012 and it was our first visit to Ireland. The stone house was exactly what we were hoping for and we had a brilliant time. We found the property very comfortable, perfectly equipped and spacious with a large garden, wonderful surroundings and a marvellous view on the Cove of Rossbrin. You certainly know the famous song „Morning has Broken“ by Cat Stevens: it gives a realistic description of the feelings we had when we woke up in the morning. We were even lucky enough to watch seals swimming in the Cove of Rossbrin, very close to our garden. The garden was simply a small paradise. And the neighbour Julian was such a kind and helpful person. We were really glad to meet him.

The location of the house is excellent for exploring Southwest of Ireland. We enjoyed trips to Mizen Head, Sheep‘s Head, Castletownsend (Mary Anns Bar Restaurant!) and the Stone Circle of Dromberg.

We highly recommend this property and hope to return very soon.

Recommended for: anybody looking for a quiet relaxing (family) holiday
