This wonderful vacation home is front-line Mediterranean, with a spectacular panoramic view of the sea, and miles of dramatic mountainous coastline. Totally renovated by its architect/owner, this spacious 3rd floor penthouse is almost twice the size of any other apartment in the Tuhillo building (180 square metres), with 2 separate lounge areas (both sea-facing), a large modern, top quality kitchen complete with granite countertops, 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a front terrace directly overlooking the pool and the sea, as well as a huge (80 square metre)private roof terrace. The entire facility is furnished as a home for the architect's family, rather than a commercial holiday rental unit. Looking out over Nerja's popular Burriana Beach, it's just a 6 minute walk to the main town square. Due to the special nature of this facility, rental groups normally limited to 7 people. Despite its popularity, this typical Andalusian town of 15,000 remains intact.Fishermen still peddle fish on the street corner. Down the coast the ruins of a 14th century Moorish castle. Cradled by coastal mountains rising up from the sea, it's a far cry from high-rise development elsewhere on the coast. Just 45 minutes to Malaga Airport.

Notes: THE PENTHOUSE FACILITY: The apartment is located in a quiet residential part of Nerja, just a 5 minute walk to the main town square and restaurant district. Front terrace equipped with table & chairs. Roof deck furnished with laundry drying area, sun loungers, and dining table for dining under the stars. A supply of books, audio tapes, & some CDs available for your enjoyment. Extra amenities for children include a supply of children's videos, games, toys, books, high chair. Kitchen fully equipped,fitted with kettle, coffeemaker, blender, toaster. Iron/ironing board, fans, heaters. Lush plants throughout the interior. Sea facing rooms are wall to wall glass. The shared pool (open year round) has been refurbished, and the surrounding communal gardens sit on a cliff directly overlooking the beach and the Mediterranean sea. 2 sunbeds have been provided for client use beside the pool. No lift. Clients must be able to use stair access. A private garage is available for parking upon request.

LOCAL POINTS OF INTEREST:: The Nerja Caves (Spain's 2nd most visited tourist site) are the town's most internationally-known attraction, but the location also caters to other interests. Wander the typical streets & shops, browse the Tuesday street market, learn Spanish at a local language school, time your stay for colourful local fiestas, or visit the Moorish fortifications at nearby Almunecar & Salobrena. Day trips to Moorish 'white villages' or jeep adventure tours into the national park in the Alpuharras region are readily available. Granada's famed Alhambra palace is a scenic 90 minute drive away. For the kids: Sea Life, the Selwo Dolphin show & Tivoli World, all at a drivable distance in Benalmadena; the water slide park at Velez Malaga, and even a crocodile farm. For longer trips, Gibralter, Morocco, Cordoba and Seville (260 km) are all within a rental car's reach, or by local bus tour. (Tour bus pick-up is just a block from the apartment.) Skiing in the Sierra Nevadas Dec-April, less than 2hours away.

FOR THE ACTIVE VACATIONER:: The beach offers a variety of activities, but you can also head inland. Rent a mountain bike, a motor scooter. The area is well known for its walking paths in the mountains surrounding the town.(Published guide books available locally.) Tired yet? Time to wind down over wine and an evening meal at any of a number of great restaurants, both at the beach and in town.

FOR THE NOT-SO-ACTIVE VACATIONER:: Pick yourself a book off one of the shelves and settle into a chair on the front terrace or one of our sun loungers on the private roof deck or, better yet, poolside in the communal garden overlooking the beach. There are worse ways to pass a week!

I stayed at this apartment in Nerja with 3 girlfreinds inMay 2008We were delighted with the sizeBedroomsare private with 2bedrooms to one bath.#1 feature is the rooftop terrace facing the sea.Apt is withinwalking distance to the beautiful Burrianna Beach where once you travel downthe huge hill you can stay and enjoy all day long. There are clean,supervised beachchair areas,showerspublic washrooms and plenty fo eat and drink.Try the Paella at orange restaurant at far end of beach The only negative is this is definitelynot aplace to stay if you are physically handicapped .Lots of stairsCanadian ladiesx4

A perfect week in Nerja

The apartment was just like the owner had promised. An amazing ocean view, just a few steps to the beach and the city of Nerja was reachable within a little walk. The weather was perfect and everyday an unbelievable sunrise. We had a wonderful time in Nerja enjoying especially the evenings at the roof. The rooms are furnished tasteful and we didn't missed anything. We had a very kindly email contact with the owners and they prepaired us perfectly. Thank you again for that.
We would certainly recommend the apartment, it is a wonderful place.

5 star penthouse in 5 star location

This place is just perfect for lots of reasons! Here are a few....We stayed in this spacious split level penthouse for 10 nights end of Sept 09 beginning of Oct. Our group of 7 included grandparents and a toddler and it was perfect for all of us. While our toddler had his afternoon nap we could still relax in the sun on the very private roof terrace. We managed the walk up to the 3rd flr apartment, and after a few days got used to it. We left our kids buggy on the ground floor for our stay which worked out just fine.
There were loads of toys and books to occupy our little fella. There is also a great library of English books and magazines, so don't bother to pack any! The bedrooms are all located away from the living areas, they stay nice and cool during hot days, and also we never found there was any noise from the street.

The communal pool is very chilled out, lots of loungers to choose from, there was only ever a handful of us there. There are lots of trees too which was great to get some shade in the hotter days.

The gardens and communal areas are maintained really well, the caretaker is always around, and although doesn't speak English he is really helpful. The caretakers of the apartment are also really helpful, with out-of office hours numbers, they speak good English are couldn't have been more helpful to us, we also used them to transfer to and from Malaga airport, they charged us 100euro each way for a minibus.

if you don't know Nerja, you won't know how perfectly situated this apartment is. You stroll through the old part of the town passing a few good bars and restaurants, looking out at the sea, to get to the Balcon area (main sq). From here you can wander along the winding pretty streets with lots of open air eating available. There are lots of good places to eat, with very reasonable prices. People seem to eat ice cream day and night in Nerja and you'll find you are never too far from ice cream kiosk :)

Tim Tory, the owner, was extremely helpful right throughout our booking, he promptly replied to our many queries.

The apartment was very clean. Although the decor is lovely, its unfussy, and very comfortable, its also easy to keep clean.Things

Don't hesitate to book this penthouse if you need space, want to be close to the action, and don't want a hike home from the beach. We felt it was really good value for money, you definitely get more than you pay for. We will be coming back!! (hopefully soon!)

Gorgeous apartment in perfect location

I stayed with my husband and two teenage sons in February 08. The apartment is very nicely done, and spacious with stunning sea views. Very close to the Balcon and shopping area as well as being only about 100 yards ( or metres!) to the beach. The apartment building is nice and quiet and other residents seem to respect that too. There is plenty to do in Nerja and the surrounding area at any time of year. We love it.
