This beautiful luxury log home has new furnishings throughout. Everything in this home is upgraded from the kitchen to the game room.
Tremendous views of Lake Nantahala and the Smoky Mountains from the two large decks. 30' ceilings on the second floor with wide open views from the family room and the kitchen. Relax by one of the two fireplaces. One wood burning in the living room and gas log fireplace in the master bedroom. One bedroom and one bath on the upper floor and three bedrooms and one bath on the bottom floor. Large TV and gameroom. This real log home is truly a neat place to vacation and just relax.
Our cabin is located about a quarter mile off of Wayah Rd which borders Lake Nantahala . (135 Ridge Top drive, Topton, NC) The roads are all paved to within a quarter mile of the cabin. The drive off Wayah Rd is gravel and has only one turn. This area is quiet, and very private. There are only a couple of cabins above us on the mountain. I have seen kids swimming off the dock. The lake never seems crowded. Usually only a couple of boats in view. Lakes End Cafe/Marina rents boats...it is about a mile from the cabin.
The cabin is about 1 1/2 hours from Asheville and 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta. The beds are all full size with one being a bunk bed with a twin size over top. Total sleeping is for 9.
The boat ramp on the lake is about a quarter mile from the neighborhood. It has a dock and you can swim, ski, fish, etc. The entrance to the boating area is about 100 yards east of our gravel drive. This is at 3,200 feet, so the water is always an emerald green color. The lake also has salmon. (only one on the east coast) I have not fished there yet, but I see bass boats and pontoon boats on the lake. The lake flows into Nantahala Gorge which has a lot of fly fishermen. The Nantahala Outdoor Center is less than a half hour away and you can enjoy rafting in the summer, dining and mountain biking there. The Great Smokey Mountain Railway is less than an hour away in Bryson City. The Lakes End Marina rents boats, call 828-321-3001 Lakes End Marina is about a mile away. Also Jeff at Nantahala Marine rents boats and will actually bring them to the dock and meet you which really makes it east to drive down, park, and take off for boating. 321-828-BOAT
We sleep 9 comfortably and the place is turn-key. There are 4 bedrooms. One bedroom has a bunk bed with a double on the bottom, and a single on top. All you need to bring is food.
Please see our website and select the Gallery for more pictures of the cabin, bedrooms, and surrounding area. There is also and Activities link for things to do in the area. (hiking, biking, rafting, etc) It is beautiful, you won’t be disappointed.

This quite and private getaway has spectacular views of Lake Nantahala. The lodge-like charm of this cabin makes you feel relaxed right away. The views from anywhere in the house are spectacular expecially from the hot tub on the lower porch. The Nantahala Gorge is 20 minutes away and some of the best rafting on the east coast. Tsali hosts some of the best and scenic mountain biking as well. Just another 5 miles from the Nantahala Outdoor Center.
Cabin was great, inside and out. The two porches are great to relax on and provide an amazing view. There are a lot of great places nearby (~20 min), predominantly the NOC which provides rafting opportunities as well as a full bar (as it is a 'resort') as the rest of the small city is 'dry', so be sure to buy beer/alcohol on the way in. Another place you can sneak by getting a drink is at PBR (Pizza by the River) which is on the way to the NOC, just a tip in the tip jar and they'll give you a beer.
Only thing that can be improved to the cabin would be a more direct path to the fire pit.
From the minute we made our reservation until the time we left, everything about our stay could not have been more perfect! Everything in the cabin looked so nice and in such great condition that I thought we were some of the first guests (and was amazed that they have had it for several years!). We had a wonderful experience at this cabin and hope to go back again some day.
What an amazing place and location! Stayed with another 3 families and had amazing time at the house and in different places around Topton ( fishing, hiking, gem mining, trout farm fishing). The cabin itself is fully stocked and provides all necessary things for a home away stay. The views from the balcony are AMAZING! And at night we had a nice time by the fireplace. Two of the families had coupe cars (fords fusion) and had no trouble getting up the heel even in rain. Will definitely recommend this place and hope to stay in the future. Thank you Mike for your prompt responses and for excellent care!
The lodge was stunning !!! Our challenge was the steep approach required a four wheel drive which we could not negotiate with our Town and Country. The wheels slid in the rain and even in sunny dsylight felt slippery. Also the house is well kept but could use more supplies normally found in VTBOs like soap/ shampoo/ sugar etc. view is gorgeous and deck amazing to with starry skies!!!
We vacationed with another family, nine total with five children ranging in age from 4 to 18. The home accommodated us extremely well never feeling cramped. Everything was as good or better than described by the owners. We were truly satisfied. Pictures can't come close to capturing the view from both decks. Many mornings and evenings spent staring at the lake and mountains. We look forward to returning in the future! Thanks for sharing your home with us!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this authentic, modern log cabin. The nice woodwork inside and out framed a beautiful view of Nantahala Lake. It was soothing to sit out on the back deck among the trees and look at the view. We did a lot of activities nearby - NOC, gem mining, Great Smoky National Park, hiking and more. Owner was very responsive before and during our stay. We will be back!
within 20 minutes of Nanataha Outdoor Center for rafting and Tsali for mountain biking.
