Splendid Apartment. Sleeps 4/6. Plus two comfortable studios each sleeping 2

Inside a magnificent 17th century Royal house 'Hotel de Rosier'- which is an historical monument, with stunning views over this fascinating historic town there are two pretty studios and an exceptional apartment which sleeps 4 / 6 & consists of 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedded room,Salon with double sofa bed, Dining room, Kitchen, Bathroom, Dressing room & a Private Terrace. The Apartment and the studios have been furnished to a high standard, with good quality furniture and comfortable beds. The second floor studio is on the same floor as the apartment and has a double bed, kitchen and bathroom. No terrace but great views. The third floor studio with it's roof top terrace with breathtaking views of Uzes and beyond -sleeps 2 and consists of 1 double bedroom, kitchen/dining area and bathroom. This is reached by a small stairway at the top of the main staircase and makes a great hideaway.

This very pretty third floor Studio - With Separate Bedroom ( Air Conditioning if needed ) is comfortably furnished and is quiet and away from it all (like a nest up high); but rests in the centre of this ancient town, with its famous Market Square, Shops, Cafes and nearby country river walks. From the terrace of the studio there are unique and breath taking views of the ancient rooftops and towers, and an exceptional view of all it's monuments and surrounding countryside. There is a swimming pool close by, tennis courts . fishing ,riding and cycling , plus canoe hire 5 mins drive away -where you may picnic and canoe right under the Pont du Gard. We have people of all ages that love to stay in this studio , but it is not for small toddlers/babes in arms-- or if you have a problem with stairs or serious vertigo (I suffer from vertigo occasionally and have no problem here). The views from the terrace can be seen in all four directions and are second to none in Uzes.

This house is not on the main road. I have placed the pointer incorrectly . Although a short walk from the main square and river walks it is away from the noise of the square and traffic.

Uzes is an exceptionally beautiful town situated on a rocky promontory on the edge of the Cevennes hills, close to the Pont-du-Gard and Avignon (5 hr from London by Eurostar). Uzes is also close to Nimes and Montpellier both of which have daily flights from London Luton airport with Ryanair.

Its Medieval towers dominate the lush green valley of the river Alzon which takes its source from the Eure, venerated since ancient Roman times & whose waters flowed in the aqueduct from Uzes to Nimes, passing over the Pont-du-Gard. The town is surrounded by a countryside not unlike Tuscany. Vines, cereal crops, olives, almonds, figs, apricots & cherry trees are cultivated in the ancestral manner. The locally produced goats cheese, honey, wine & Provençal vegetables, are all of an excellent quality. With the Luberon & Camargue close by, Uzes is located in an ideal resting place. The beauty of its architectural heritage, & its exceptional brightness offer a remarkable quality of life.

    Both the 2nd floor 2 bedroom apartment and the one bedroom studio / apartment may be rented together. There is easy access from the apartment by a small staircase to the studio above giving three bedrooms (sleeping 6/8) two bathrooms and two terraces with wonderful views. Price ranging from 950 to 1,250 high summer.
    There is also a second floor studio available on the same level as the apartment which would be the same price as above- no terrace- but less stairs and more spacious. (Washing machine with dryer)
    The two studios may also be booked together - from 750 Euros low season to 900 high -- Giving 2 bathrooms. The two studios with the apartment would be low season 1,350 Euros and 1,750 high season. 20% deposit is required on booking.

Whoever chooses to stay in this delightful historic house in the centre of Uzes will not be disappointed. It is ideally located and within a short distance of many interesting and wonderful places. The accommodation is charming and comfortable and provided all that we required.
Our stay was made all the more relaxing by the warm and receptive welcome we received from the charismatic and helpful owner.Uzes is ideal for visiting many other sites such as Pont du Gard ;St Quentin La Poterie and Avignon.
We look forward to returning soon and share our experiences with friends.

Owner's Response: I try to make life as comfortable and welcoming as possible. Holidays with the travelling and the anticipation of where you are going to stay can be very stressful and I know from my own experiences that a cold welcome after a long and tiring journey is sometimes devastating .

I now have clients that return each year ( or so ),because Uzes is a wonderful little town that is very well placed for visiting other sites from the mountains to the sea - and Hotel de Rosier being a 17th Century Historical Monument makes it a holiday with a difference .

It was a great feeling to temporary possess a key to the front door of the wonderful Hotel Rosiers! The hideaway roof top apartment was perfect for my needs; being a short reasonably agile person! I loved the decor; Shirley has excellent taste, as well as being an excellent person. She has thought of everything! I highly recommend it, as well as visiting Uzes in general.

The third floor studio is often an escape for me (when it is vacant of course) high up away from it all . And excellent if you have a good book to read , or just to look down on Uzes from the high terrace - where you have a view of the town and the distant countryside all in one go !

The Perfect Holiday

We had a lovely time staying here, the room was great and beautifully presented and the view was also incredible. Ideally loacted just round the corner from the square in Uzes making it easy to get around. Our stay could not have been better

As you say just around the corner to the equally superb square full of light and shadows - in the early evening at the end of a Summer's day .

The bed is a little short if you are over 6ft or on the large side ? But otherwise very comfortable.

A gorgeous gem

We stayed in the rooftop hideaway, a beautiful little apartment, well decorated, and very comfortable. The terrace has spectacular views in all directions and still feels wonderfully private. The apartment is situated at the top of a very impressive house, on a pretty cobbled street right in the heart of this lovely town. There are loads of good places to eat within comfortable strolling distance, but if you want to buy food at the market (and you should!), the butcher or the baker, they are all close by, and the kitchen is fully equipped. Shirley was welcoming and helpful, and I very much hope we will be returning.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Look no further

What can I say about staying in the Hotel de Rosier. It is magnificent in all respects. Your heart skips a beat just walking up the street! It is set on a beautiful pedestrian cobbled street amidst all the glorious history of Uzes. With grand archtiecture all around you can't help but feel part of it all and you will certainly seel somewhat smug throughout your stay that you found such a gem!

Once inside it only gets better. A wonderful stone staircase sweeps you up to your apartment which you will find perfectly renovated with taste and with only your comfort in mind. A great interior and such incredible views that anyone who sees them must surely take a moment to catch their breath.

We were made to feel incredibly at ease by the owners who, when your paths cross, are the perfect hosts.

The area has everything you need, beautiful architecture, stunning countryside and not too far away from Nimes, Avignon and the coast and all that Provence offers.

I am almost reluctant to share such a discovery but really, don't think twice, your search should stop here...!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
