A gem in Perigord

This has been our third visit Les Lavandes and our first for a 2 week stay, without doubt our best yet. Les Lavandes is a real home from home, the quality of property, furnishings and facilities are realy first class and a credit to the owners, who have paid real attention to detail to ensure their guests have a great holiday. With large living areas, very comfortable bedrooms and onsuite wetrooms you can relax in comfort after a day touring or if have just spent the day lazing in the sun around the Les Lavandes pool.
The location of the property is perfect in a peaceful rural setting, but just a 10 minute drive from the centre of Le Bugue, which has a good selection of supermarkets, shops and places to eat. Les Lavandes is the perfect the base for touring Perigord and the Dordogne, with Bererac just a 40 minute drive away. You will need to plan your stay with care if you are to see the many attractions that surround Les Lavandes, from wonderful Chateau's to the spectacular caves (Lascauax Caves a must) A turbulent history has left the region dotted with bastides, fortified hilltop towns and villages, ancient strongholds of Charlemagne, Richard the Lionheart and the Black Prince.
The old town of Sarlat, dating from both medieval and renaissance times is a pleasure to visit, especially the Saturday market that is fantastic (get there early to park!)
Don't miss the streets around the cathedral and the streets to the north of the old town when you visit Sarlat. You will soon become lost in the maze of narrow lanes, with something new to see around every corner.
We have no hesitation in recommending Les Lavandes for your holiday, great for families of all ages ( we have 2 girls 6 and 8 who love it) and groups of friends looking for something different from a beach holiday.
