Varennes sur Loire is situated along the Loire river, 12 kilometres east of Saumur, mid distance between the towns of Tours and Angers in a UNESCO protected site.
DIRECTIONS: If you are approaching Saumur, stay on the north side of the Loire River. (Saumur proper is on the south side). You will travel east on the D152 from Saumur, in the direction of Tours for 12 km (10 minutes),then you will come to a large metal bridge crossing the Loire River, on your right. DO NOT CROSS THE RIVER. At this intersection the sign will show VARENNES -SUR-LOIRE on the right. Travel 1km into VARENNES and in the centre of the village, with the church on the right (this is a 'T' intersection), turn left (west) at the BAR COMMERCE onto rue des SABATIERS (this rue turns into rue de la Croix des Noues) We are at number 8. One half km out of the village you will see a wind mill on the left and then a large metal warehouse. Across from the warehouse is a large CRUCIFIX. This is the drive to the Manoir
