Le Pichet has been lovingly restored to retain as much as possible of its original character. This traditional stone house offers wonderful views towards the Col de la Core and the slopes of Mt. Valier, and being west facing, fabulous sunsets over the mountains. The beautiful garden with its abundant herbs is an idyllic place to relax. The interior has been tastefully furnished, largely in oak; downstairs consisting of a dining room with woodburning stove; bathroom and well equipped kitchen; a lovely oak staircase leads to the first floor consisting of a light, airy and spacious living roomextra bedroom which is superb particularly in summer, and two charming bedrooms. (reduced price possible for 2-4 pers.) The area is superb for all outdoor activities - the walks are magnificent, whatever your level. We also offer painting holidays, for Rodney is a well known artist (see website). A region rich in culture, history and gastronomy awaits, and we will be delighted to welcome you .

Leaving the the Garbet (valley of the Montreurs d?Ours) between Oust and Erce, you follow a lane which twists and turns among woods and flowers, always climbing, to its end, and there is Miramont, a little paradise on earth overlooking the Bassin d%?9Oust. Formerly devoted to agriculture, the hamlet consists today of eleven pretty, well renovated barns and houses, where you will be sure of peace and quiet.Nearby: superb walking; horse-riding at Oust, Erce; donkey-hire at Seix, Aleu; canoekayak above Seix; swimming; fishing; paragliding; ski-ing at Guzet. Oust Seix supply all needs a well known butcher, bakeries, supermarkets, doctor, pharmacy, several restaurants (the Garbet is superb). The bustling town of St. Girons has a wonderful Saturday market.Culturehistory: Gallo-Roman St.Lizier, medeival Foix; the traditions of the Bethmale, world famous prehistoric caves at Lombrives, Niaux; Tarascon?s park of prehistoric art; Cathar castles, and summer festivities everywhere.

Whether for 2-6 people or 2-4 at a reduced price, high and very high season lettings are for a period of 7 nights stay minimum, starting and ending on Saturdays from 3.30 p.m on the day of arrival until 10.30 on the day of departure.During medium and low season, other lengths of stay, days (and hours) of arrival and departure are possible on agreement, at pro rata prices. For weekends, the house is available from Friday after midday until Sunday at 7p.m.For these other seasons, the conditions of payment and the caution are the same as for highvery high season.   • Small but functional, the bathroom contains everything you need: bath (with shower attachment), washbasin and w.c. The blue tiling is light and clear in summer, warm in winter. A big storage tank(situated out of sight under the stairs) ensures that you have plentiful hot water. Towels (along with sheets,) are available as an extra - euros10 per person per week. IMPORTANT: To adapt to the American standard, we have converted the European bathroom information.   • The 2 delightful bedrooms are on the first floor on either side of the living room which can also serve as a bedroom should you wish. You can choose all three rooms, or for 2-4 persons at a reduced rate, the chalet bedroom and the living room. -chalet bedroom in light wood -double bed, cupboard, shelves.-large bedroom with beams, in calm colours of beige white and pink: double bed, single bed, wardrobe and shelves.-high-ceilinged, living bed room, superb light particularly in summer: sofa bed (2 singles) sofa, armchair and bookcase.The rooms look over the garden to the valley between Miramont and the pretty hamlet of Arrous, the wooded ridge of the Mirabat, and beyond to the Col de la Core and the slopes of Mt.Valier - at dawn bathed pink in the early light of sunrise, with the smoke curling up from the chimneys of Arrous, and only the sound of birdsong, the stream gurgling below and cowbells. At night, the sky scattered with a million sparkling stars is pure enchantment.
