London Vacation Rental : Wimbledon

This house has a lot of potential and is in very good proximity to central London in the Wimbledon area. It is convenient to a train station and just a few stops from Waterloo station. It is near the A3 so an easy drive to get out of the London area, as well. There is a great park nearby with golf and loads of bike trails.

Unfortunately it also needs a lot of attention and definitely a woman's touch. This house has 3 bathrooms and during our 2 month stay, only one was fully functional, of course it was the least convenient one to the bedrooms. It was downstairs while all rooms were upstairs. One bathroom had lights that never worked while the other had a door that would not close and a bathtub whose water temp could not be controlled.

The closets were just horrible and very cluttered as though someone really did live there and moved out just for our visit. This house is really not set up as a vacation home for visitors. My family found it very hard to get comfortable in a house that was packed with someone else's things including sundries in bathroom cabinets and clutter in bedside tables. No home use instructions were available for renters and messages and requested visits to handle issues by the owner went largely unanswered or took days to have actioned.

The beds were terribly uncomfortable and the kitchen oven was so dirty it started to smoke when I first tried to cook a family meal. A specialist had to be sent out to clean it just so we could use it for the duration of our stay. It was a major inconvenience and should have never happened.

We have now been home for over a month and we are still awaiting the return of a refundable 1000 GBP deposit and the request to return this deposit is going unanswered.

It is unfortunate because all these annoyances are so easily rectified and this could be a world class rental. In its current state, it is a very far cry from that and not recommended by this renter.
