Luxury gite holiday cottage with pool on the Piotou Charente - Dordogne border, in rural France, near golf & tennis at Manoir de Longeveau and the picturesque village of Aubeterre by the River Dronne . This romantic Self catering farmhouse is located at the end of a winding lane with stunning uninterrupted views. Our luxury holiday rental cottage is set among the beautiful countryside of the Charente, ablaze with sunflowers during the summer. There are extensive grounds to explore and a good sized shared swimming pool over 14m long (you will find you often have this to yourselves). Our spacious 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom French holiday home is furnished & equipped to a very high standard to complement the wealth of character features. The private south facing terrace has al fresco dining furniture, sun beds & BBQ. For cosy winter evenings there is an open fireplace in the spacious living room and a wood burning stove in the Kitchen plus a 28' TV/DVD with UK Satellite channels

Delightful holiday rental Gite in idyllic spot overlooks the beautiful rolling countryside of the southern Poitou Charente near the Dordogne border close to beautiful Aubeterre sur Dronne with its great remarkable monolithic church hosting a variety of concerts & events. The River Dronne offers a sandy beach, small water park, fishing, canoeing, bike hire, horse riding etc. Nearby are the famous Vineyards of Bordeaux, Bergerac and Cognac plus the wine capital St Emilion.

We had the most fantastic trip. The house is certainly in the most idyllic spot with those stunning views and that rural feel. I can't believe how fast the weeks flew by! You really have done a lovely job with the house and we couldn't have been happier there, the refurbishment is so elegant and the house was so well equipped it meant we felt very at home.

Wonderful property

I was looking for somewhere special to take my partner for her birthday
and found this lovely house at a bargain price for the 2 of us for a week June/July. I had visited the Charente several years before and really loved it. I was very impressed with La Ferme, it is very well presented with lots of attention to detail. The stylish master bedroom was large and the king sized bed very comfortable. The location and views are stunning, we had the pool to ourselves on the days we used it. It was large and lovely and clean again with l great views over the countryside.
The owner was very helpful booking dinner at a nearby Chateau for me, organising breakfast for our first morning and providing a long list of suggestions for our week plus a nice bottle of wine on our arrival. We would recommend the Chateau in Chalais for a meal and enjoyed a day canoeing on the nearby river. Aubeterre is nearby and very picturesque,with a range of nice places to eat, the Hotel du France was one we liked, we went to a concert in the monolithic church which was very atmospheric. We will certainly be returning and would like to thank Caroline & William for using thier lovely home and for helping make it a special week for us

wonderful holiday

My husband and I stayed at La Ferme last year and really loved the house and the area. We returned this year with friends for 2 weeks. They were as charmed by the house and surrounding countryside as we were.
The house is in a wonderful location overlooking lovely views and is surrounded by fields and woodland. The pool is large and very clean.
the house is spacious with very good sized bedooms. Our bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. La Ferme has been beautifully decorated and there was everything we could possibly need. It is the nicest rental properrty we have stayed in.
We would thoroughly recommend the house and hope to return in the future
