THE MILL-HOUSE

Pleugriffet House Rental Photos and Description

Mill-House: 3 Bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 7 comfortably also The Cottage

MOULIN DE GRIFFET comprising The Mill, Mill-House and Cottage, is set in the heart of the Brittany countryside, in 4 acres of private grounds, adjacent to the Brest to Nantes Canal and a river. This offers a relaxing and fun holiday location from where it is easy to explore Brittany.

The Mill-House offers self-catering accommodation for at least 8 people. It has a large lounge with many stone features, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and open plan converted attic which is great for children or for more guests.

The Cottage is smaller and sleeps a maximum of 6. It has 2 double bedrooms and a childrens room with a bunkbed. Downstairs it has a lounge/diner, kitchen, bathroom and toilet.

Both properties have free Internet access and satellite TV. Kayaks / Canoes and bicycles are supplied inclusive of the holiday rental price. A 10% discount on Brittany Ferries is available. The location really offers something for everyone.

The many southern Brittany beaches are a little over an hour away with places to visit en route. A popular day out is to a forest location with walkways in the trees, rope swings etc. The advantage of being centrally located in Brittany is that one can also explore the north coast beaches and Mont St Michel - a 'must see' !

20 minutes to the east at Ploermel is an inland lake with sandy beach which is also popular with guests. On the other side of the lake there are gardens with picnic areas a 'Hydranga Walk' (The Hydranga is the Plant of Brittany) and a golf course with extensive views of the lake. There is also a disused railway which is great for cycling.

A lovely relaxing break in idyllic surroundings

  • 4 of 5
We had a lovely holiday in Moulin. The location was perfect. We enjoyed canoeing most days and saw lots of wildlife - many kingfishers, 2 otters and even a cormorant near the Moulin. We went to the wier every day to splash about in the water with our one year old retriever. It is fun to cycle along the tow path to the friendly local creperie in the evening. The gite was lovely, characterful and spacious - that extra star could be gained by having more luxurious kitchen and bathroom facilities, but that's maybe me being picky! The directions were the best we've had - the first time we drove straight to our gite without getting at least a little lost. Thank you Giles!

Perfect to unwind and an excellent base to explore

  • 5 of 5
Idyllic location with a calm rustic environment. Perfect location to get away from it all but, just a 15 minute drive to the medieval town of Josselin with its Castle and many restaurants for the evenings entertainment. The coast is less than an hour away meandering along quiet country roads. The owner was ultra helpful, the comprehensive welcome folder explained how everything worked and the property was spotless.
Loved every minute of our stay at the Mill and we will definitely return in the future.

Fabulous Stay

  • 5 of 5
We returned to Moulin de Griffet for another wonderful relaxing holiday, although it was late in the year (October) the weather was bright and sunny and we thoroughly enjoyed all the activities available. Everyone canoed, cycled and walked miles along the canal, the highlight for me was the ride to Josselin and a welcome lunch at a local restaurant before heading back. I would thoroughly recommend Moulin de Griffet for all ages, we had such a good time we invited my mother to come back with us and she had a wonderful time. It is a fantastic place to stay to enjoy the French countryside and explore the local area.

I am looking forward to another stay again this year.

Mill House

Fabulous holiday enjoyed by all the family. The accommodation and facilities at the Mill House were excellent - would definitely recommend.
The view to the lake when you arrive at the Mill House is breathtaking, a part of Brittany that we previously hadn't explored and was well worth the visit.
