MOULIN DE GRIFFET offers a choice of two cottages on the site of a disused but largely intact original Napoleonic watermill set in four acres of private grounds at the heart of the Breton countryside. It boasts its own lake, river access, fishing, swimming, canoeing, cycling, mill wheel, mature woodland, fruit trees, berries and abundant wildlife. Canoes and bicycles are supplied, free of charge. Adjacent to the Mill sit two three-bedroom holiday homes - The Mill House sleeps seven comfortably on three floors. The Cottage, set behind and separate from the Mill House, overlooks the lake and sleeps six comfortably.

'WOW! IT'S FANTASTIC!' is everyone's first reaction. This 1700s stone cottage has been recently restored to an exceptionally high standard. Adjacent to the original Napoleonic watermill, accommodation on three floors comprises three bedrooms (two large and one enormous loft space), living room/dining area, kitchen, bathroom. Original interior stonework has been restored throughout much of the building. Downstairs: wood-burning stove on large, raised stone hearth and electric heating throughout the house. Fitted kitchen with oak work surface, ceramic sink, gas cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine, electric kettle, toaster and extendable small wooden table. An imposing spiral staircase of solid oak, recently tailor-made by a local craftsman, runs up two storeys to the top of the house. First Floor: Double bedroom, bunk bed room, bathroom. Loft: Open-plan, single bed, double sofa-bed. TV & VHS player (no TV channels). Terraces, large picnic bench, barbeque. Tarzan swing.

Griffet is a riverside hamlet in the heart of the Breton countryside. The local village of Pleugriffet (3km) caters for all the essentials of life in France - the baker, the grocer, the doctor, and the bar. 10min drive to the nearest supermarket. Aside from the diversions available on-site or adjacent to Moulin de Griffet (fishing, swimming, cycling, walking, canoeing, tarzan-swing, birdwatching, wildlife-spotting) the house is well-situated as a base for exploring the many other attractions that Brittany offers, from its stunning coastline to its beautiful and historic buildings. Picturesque and popular medieval town of Josselin, with its imposing turreted chateau- 15mins Lac au Duc, Ploermel - sailing and windsurfing school on enormous lake - 25min.   • Rental is Saturday to Saturday in high season.
    Arrival 1600 hours and departure at 10.00 to allow time for cleaning. Flexible where circumstances permit.
    A booking deposit of 25% is required.
    The remaining 75% to be paid eight weeks before the booking commences (late bookings by special arrangement), plus a damage deposit of £100, which is refunded within two weeks at the end of the holiday.
    Rental is inclusive of all utilities except electric heating for which a supplement is payable.
    House should be left clean and tidy as found. Optional cleaning charge is £50.
    Discount for long term booking.

Garden seating - picnic bench comfortably sits six adults, plus garden chairs. Separate seating area to front of house. Shared use of two barbeques, one charcoal, one gas. Lakeside dining table and chairs. Please note that the property is surrounded by water and small children will need close supervision at all times, especially when using kayaks. For your safety we request that life jackets provided should be used and that guests do not use kayaks after dark or after drink.
