Super charming stunning beachfront and seafront villa in Elba.

We spend one week at villa montechristo in june 2012, everything was just GREAT! It was our first time in Elba but we will surely come back again the future: the house is the charmest I've ever seen and very well equipped for our big family with children, the location is just perfect very close to the beach and to the village, italian food is so tasty and we anjoyed great meals in the big garden well maintained, the owners are so helpful and kind and the landlady very gentle... We'll try to come back in 2013, and we fully reccomend it to friends and relatives. There are many activities to do on Elba, as windsurf, sailing, biking and horse riding: we did everything... I counsel a visit to Pianosa island: untouched nature and emerald sea!

For 2 september weeks Villa Montecristo was our Italian home for the big international friends and family gettogether. Outdoor sea view garden terrace with huge table and barbeque, and big living room with an oval table and sofas became the centers of our attraction. We cooked in turns, ordered desserts from the local pizzeria and tasted delicious Italian wines in a very homy, welcoming and stylish atmosphere of an old family home full of old Elba ambiance and history. Villa definitely has lots of character.

Fiammetta, the owner was very helpful and attentive to our requests from the very begginning and kindly arranged lots of documents for our Russian guests vizas. She was dealing with problems very promptly - the second day of our stay we noticed that the dishwasher was leaking and she arranged the new dishwasher installed next day!

Shady garden was also great to have - as during the hot hours we could comfortably chill out around the villa. Property was clean, had all necessary facilities for cooking ( pots and pans a bit worn out but functional) and serving big amount of guests.

Please note that one bedroom in main house is only suitable for kids/ teenagers - as bunk beds are really short in length and small. In our team we had more couples who would require a double bed and grouping together antique single beds was not the most comfortable option, but the virtues of the villa, its feel and its setting really outweighed the beds disposition - so no one really complained.

To travel around the island you will need a car or scooter - the most picturesque mountain top villages lika Marciana and Capoliveri with great dining are a must see. We tried to look for a perfect beach around the island but realized that for us with small kids Seccheto beach was just ideal - quick walk, not over touristy as it still feels like a village, compact, clean, with sandy main part and rocky sides. Kids just loved the little river flowing into the sea!

Walking to the nearby villages and beaches by foot is not so enjoyable as the wavy roads do not have sidewalks - so better drive.
Seccheto's pizzeria and seafood restaurant are great.

We would definitely come back one day and certainly recommend the house for anyone who would want to spend quality time together with friends and family.
