This is a big house with a panorama view to the fjord. It is located within peaceful surroundings, situated on the west coast. It is 35 minutes drive from Bergen, and 55 minutes drive from Bergen airport. From the car parking you have to take the boat for 200 meters to the house, or you can walk the hilly path for 10 minutes. The house has two separate apartments, with 4 and 5 beds, perfect for two families or a group. Rent both apartments and you will get a special price! We have also a big dinning room for rent. You can also just hire one of the apartments. The property has several outdoor areas with garden tables and chairs.New: a small cabin for children.There is a very nice grill area perfect for barbecuing and watching the beautiful, late sunset. Maybe you also want to take a warm bath in the outdoor hot tub? Each apartment has a little boat with outdoor engine. The fjord is perfect for fishing and kayaking. One of Europe’s best golf courses is only 30 minutes away by car.

This apartment has the view to the beach at the bay. You will have early morning sun, and you can take your breakfast just outside the door on sunny days. At the back of the house there is a little garden where you can play croquet and badminton. Kitchen/living room and shower/WC room are on the ground floor, the bedrooms are upstairs.
About Merethe Vik (or Mads Rio)

We, Merethe and Mads lives at Voss,about 12 miles from our holiday house. Voss is known as a vinter sport city with nice down hill skiing, . But in summer we have a big event; Ekstremsportveko (the week of extremsport) Mads loves to kayak, and in Voss he have courses in river kayaking (for beginners).

At our vacation house we have kayaks for rent, to use in the fjord around our summer vacation house.

We both love kayaking.

Merethe Vik (or Mads Rio) purchased this apartment in 1990
Why Merethe Vik (or Mads Rio) chose Hordaland

In 1990 Mads got the house from his parents. We have done a lot of improvans of the house. Originally this is a house from 1912, and was a place for working: knitting and fixing fishing nets. In 1970 the house was devided into two separate apartments. We have tryed to maintain some of the old details in the building consrtuction.

Mads has great memories from all his summer vacations at this place, with his parents and sister. Mads mum is from this area, so we have family here too.

What we love the best of this house?

It must be the stunning sunset late at night. The barberquing areas...We also love to sit and look at the fjord from the living room. And of coures that you can be all alone at this place.

The house lies detached in the countryside in peaceful surroundings. It is in a fjord north of Bergen. The nearest house is 300 meters away, on the other side of the bay. You have a local supermarket 500 meters away and some bigger shopping centres 12 minutes by car at Knarvik. This is a popular area for sailing and you will see a lot of boats trafficking at the fjord. There are a lot of small bays nearby where it is nice to have a swim or to dive. The owners sometimes arrange guided kayak trips in the area. You can participate on these tours, and learn kayaking in safe conditions or just enjoy the sight!

Other Activities: canoeing, kayaking, riding lessons, hiking

Golf: In addition, one of Europe’s best golf courses is only 30 minutes away by car. At Fløksand is Meland Golf Course, considered one of the best 18-hole golf courses in Europe, presenting unique challenges in a varied landscape. The golf course has a pro shop and the cafeteria.
