Getting there: Several times a week boats depart from Dubrovnik, Rijeka, Split and Hvar for Korcula. Buses also leave from the main bus station in Dubrovnik. If you are travelling by car, you can take a car ferry from Split every day to Vela Luka on the west end of the island, or from July to early September you can take a ferry from Orebic south of Split directly to the old town of Korcula. Other options include coming by ferry from Drevnik on the mainland (about two hours south of Split) to the old town in Korcula or from Ploce to Trapanj on the Peljesac Peninsula and then from Trapanj you can drive across the thin Peljesac Peninsula to Orebic and catch the ferry to Korcula (a 15 minute ride). If you are driving up from Dubrovnik and the south you can drive directly to Orebic on the Peljesac Peninsula.
