One of three award-winning cottages at the foot of the Malvern Hills, The Woodhouse is an early C15th Grade II* Listed semi-moated hall-house, sharing its 15 acres of gardens and grounds with our two other cottages. The Woodhouse is perfect for those looking for luxury in an historic setting. Each bedroom has its own variation on a four-poster bed with dramatic medieval-style hangings and antique furniture. Barn Croft, newly converted from a stone barn and adjoining brick calf-house, is light and airy and ideally suited to a family gathering or being shared by three couples. The Wainhouse has been imaginatively restored to provide a secluded, romantic hideaway. All the cottages have their own gardens and are furnished with antiques, silk drapes, pictures and prints. Book The Woodhouse on its own or book all three properties together to provide a wonderful setting for a family reunion or special celebration, accommodating upto 16 guests with dining capacity in The Woodhouse for 16.

The Woodhouse is a Grade II* Listed semi-moated medieval hall-house, from the first part of the C15th. It has been restored using traditional methods and materials including Herefordshire oak, wattle and daub, lime mortar, limewash and casein paint. What remained of the original building was used to provide evidence for the restoration, which was guided by SPAB architect Andrew Thomas and executed largely by the owner, David Furnival. It was featured by the BBC on Radio 4’s Open Country and in The Observer in Feb. 2004. Mentioned in N. Pevsner’s Buildings of England, The Royal Commission on Historic Monuments for East Herefordshire and in The Book of Ledbury by Joe Hillaby. Furnished to reflect its medieval beginnings, this is your opportunity to luxuriate in a medieval-style 'hanging' bed, four poster or a half tester. Dine in what was the Great Hall, which can accommodate 16, or use the garden terrace to entertain whilst overlooking the carp-filled moat.

The award-winning Woodhouse Farm Cottages, lie just outside the picturesque market town of Ledbury. Surrounded by apple orchards in one of the loveliest parts of a beautiful county, we are within yards of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and ideally placed to explore the Malvern Hills, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. We are perfectly situated for the Ledbury Poetry Festival, Malvern Garden Shows and Three Choirs Festival. The races at Hereford and Cheltenham are twenty five and forty five minutes away respectively. Ludlow, with its race course and Michelin starred restaurants is only forty minutes away (though there are excellent restaurants in Ledbury too) and within an hour you could be in the Forest of Dean, Stratford, the Cotswolds, Wales and just outside Bath.

Notes: Children over the age of 6 are welcomed. Due to the historic character of the house and its high listing, the stone flagged floors can be uneven, the staircases are winding and one is very narrow. The timber beams are low. It is may not be suitable for those with impaired mobility and is not suitable for toddlers because of the proximity of the pond. It is, however, perfect for those who enjoy historic buildings and those with character.
