Parisian at birth and at heart, I have lived in the US, and my family has been involved with English speaking cultures for many years ( Schools, Universities, friends ...).

We love to travel, discover, get to know places, people, History and cultures.

I am what you could call 'a foodie', in love with around the world good quality products, recipes.

I keep discovering restaurants, cookbooks, chefs in Paris and everywhere I go.

I offer B&B services all related to the inscription of France food and meal on the Unesco list of immatirial patrimony.

Martine Jablonski Cahours purchased this apartment in 2006

At one point in my life, I open a B&B in the South West of France ( with 'Table d'Hôtes') but kept this apartment as a 'pied-à-terre' for Winter, renting it the rest of the year. I loved running the B&B, meeting people, cooking, explaining 'my' region. Now I am full Parisian, but continue the B&B services for my guests. I love sharing my beloved city with visitors, helping them to discover it as true Parisians, getting to know some 'off the beaten path' places ( little museums, good restaurants and markets, special grocery shops...)

I love helping my guests to deal with culture shock issues and make the most of their stay, being relaxed with the transportation system and the shop keepers. To find activities related to their hobbies and needs.

The apartment is in central Paris ( 2°). Close to main attractions, surrounded with public transportation system.

I love the district that I have known since I was a student in the 60ies ! Have worked there as a student, then owned a Pharmacy rue Montorgueil.

I love the fact that being the former food wholesale market, the district still offers cookbook stores, professionnal utensils ones, professionnal groceries, restaurants ...

The building is from the XVIIth century, having been rehabed since 2006 and well maintained.

Being in the center of everything but quietly secluded in a charming courtyard.

As an hostess, I can speak English or French, I understand Spanish. Whatever language you choose, I will host you personally and assist you as much as you want. I love my city and will share it with you with great pleasure.

CHARMING APARTMENT, PERFECT LOCATION

  • 5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks Martine’s apartment on Rue d’Argout. The comfortable ground floor apartment on an interior courtyard is quiet, secure and perfect for a couple. The location offers easy access to Metro stations and the neighborhood has many restaurants and food shops to choose from. Martine is a charming and attentive hostess and her welcome gift basket, well-stocked kitchen and lists of favorite bistros and shops were much appreciated. We would certainly stay here again and we recommend it to anyone considering and apartment in Paris.

PERFECT

  • 5 of 5
The appartment is perfect for couples. It is quiet, well equipped and spottlessly clean. It is in a great area for exploring the city within walking distance to the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Pompidou Centre. The area itself is lovely with a good choice of cafes and food shops - perfect for foodies. Martine makes sure your stay is one to remember. Ada who looks after the appartment is very helpful. Highly recommended.

A PRACTICAL, PERFECTLY POSITIONED APARTMENT

  • 5 of 5
We have returned to the Cévennes after a magical week in Paris, and I write to thank you for the privilege of using your apartment for much of that time. We were made to feel most welcome and quickly discovered that not only did your apartment - a real haven of peace - contain everything we needed for a comfortable stay (including sharp kitchen knives, a rarity in a rental property!), but it was also perfectly positioned for everything we wanted to do in central Paris. We walked everywhere - Jardin des Tuileries, Rive Gauche and the Marais district, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of each district we passed through. On the practical side, the district in which the apartment is situated contains all a human being would reasonably need to bring comfort to body and soul after a hard day's tourism: a super bakery, greengrocery and mini-supermarket, as well as some good restaurants. No big-city anonymity here - we found the area hugely welcoming and fascinating. In short, a very rewarding trip, which we look forward to repeating when we've earned a few more pennies! John Cross

A WONDERFUL HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

  • 5 of 5
We loved the apartment on Rue D'Argout! It is very suited for a couple, fully equipped and very clean. Beautiful courtyard and really quiet. It's located in a pedestrian area of Paris so there is not much vehicle traffic. Lots of food, clothing and shoe shops along with restaurants, cafes nearby. It's only a 10 minute walk to the Louvre and centrally located to be able to walk to lots of museums etc. We even walked up the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe and to the Eiffel Tower and back to the apartment - a long walk but a great way to see the city. A bus and metro stop are just also around the corner. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, all of the guide books and maps but particularly enjoyed the hospitality and knowledge of Martine. She was more than eager to answer questions and provide information before and after our arrival. We toured gourmet food shops, patisseries and chocolate shops, along with other sites on the Left Bank with Martine and it was one of the best days of our week in Paris. We really had a fun day!

Owner's Response: Dear Jacquie and Graham,

thank you so much for taking time to write this in the midst of your unpacking, reacquainting with family and friends.
I know Paris has a lot to offer and that you'd find enough to discover, even with your high level of energy.
I am happy to read that you were satisfied with the apartment location and equipment.
And last but not least, I did enjoy touring the Gourmet 6th with you, your curiosity, enthusiasm, your positive attitude. Trying out all the macarons in Luxembourg was fun to share with you....
Wish you a nice settling back in Canada, a Holiday season filled with family joy and then off to US with your wonderful camping car ... Until you come back to Europe.

My very best friendly and thankful regards,

martinn

UN APPARTEMENT OÙ ON SE SENT BIEN!

  • 5 of 5
