Our Farm The Brandettes is 15 min far from Sarlat, and can be reached by train or motorway (Souillac A20 Exit 55). We invite you to stay in our guest room, nestled in the middle of the woods. Double room in a farmhouse, completely separate from the owners' rooms. So this house can be use as a bed and breakfast or as a gite. Built on a hillside on over 7 acres of land, half fenced fields, half woodland. The property has no neighbours for 500m around. You can enjoy the silence interrupted only by birdsong, or admire the starry night sky, which is unpolluted by urban lights. Ideal hideaway for romantic holidays. As well as the bedroom and bathroom there is at your disposition a living room with kitchenette and a terrace with wood surround and a clear view of the Dordogne valley and our heated pool.

We are right in the heart of Périgord Noir. Easy to reach. Despite the popularity of the region, our farm is in perfectly quiet surroundings where you can relax. Halfway between Périgord Blanc, Vert and Quercy regions and on the edge of Correze and Lot, there is lots to see and do. Within a radius of 30 miles there are lots of places to visit: monuments to France's medieval history (Chateaux valley and the gem in Périgord's crown, Salat la Canéda), prehistoric sites all along the Vezere river (Lascaux, Les Eyzies etc.) and also lots of architectural, historical and natural sites to see in Quercy (Padirac chasm, St Cirq la Pipie etc.). And not forgetting the gastronomic delights which must be sampled. After tasting all the traditionnal recipes, sun bath will be waiting for you at home round the pool , or try many sports activities close to home.

  • The bathroom has a shower, large washbasin and a heated towel rail. Wc are separate. The upstairs bedrooms have washing facilities with a washbasin. We provide a bath towel, washcloth and wash robe each, bathmat, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. If you are in a rush to get away you can bring nothing but a toothbrush (we even have some of those) and we will attempt to supply you with the rest. IMPORTANT: To adapt to the American standard, we have converted the European bathroom information. The original information is : - Number of European bathrooms : 1 (can be with or without toilet inside) - Number of European shower rooms : 1 (can be with or without toilets inside) - Number of toilets : 1

  • The double room is air-conditioned. All the beds have synthetic pillows, bolsters and double duvets, all treated against dust mites and non-allergenic. If the 2 of you would like separate rooms you can have access to 1 of the 2 rooms upstairs (15m2 more), for a small fee. We can occasionally accommodate 4 people, but we prefer to limit the number to 2 for your comfort, and because there is only one bathroom in this part of the house. The ground floor and first floor have separate entrances. Even if you only need ground floor, we won?t rent the upstairs rooms to another family for the whole period of your stay, to ensure your peace and quiet. The house is not ideal for teenagers that like to go out at night on ther own, idem for babies. However, we can add a baby travel cot in your room.

Notes: In addition to the bedroom there is a 27m2 living room with lounge area, fireplace, dining area, kitchenette and 16m2 terrace for your use only. In the kitchen area there is a coffee machine, kettle, toaster, 2 hob rings, oven and microwave, 6 place dishwasher, small fridge and a cupboard for crockery and utensils. You can choose to have breakfast with us or in your own rooms. Because of the equipments that this part of the house has, it can be use as a bed and breakfast or as a gîte. You can also use the washing machine and freezer in the farm cellar. There is Adsl, wifi in the house and in the garden. You can also use the heated pool (28° C) from the end of April to the end of October. It?ll be shared with the owner?s family and and any potential guests in the cottage, but having to respect for the pool opening times (10-19.00) to maintain the peace and quiet of the area.The pool complies with current safety legislation and has a rigid cover and peripheral alarm.
