Not far from Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Chianti and Volterra.

Colloritto is an old farmhouse in a hill top position in the wonderful countryside west of Siena. It lies 12 Km far from Casole d’Elsa and Radicondoli, both typical medieval villages still retaining their charm and original character. Colloritto is a perfect jump off point to explore the enchanting Tuscany, including the Maremma seashore. City of art such as Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Monteriggioni, Massa Marittima are easily accessible on good roads. Colloritto was built over an Etruscan site. The place was inhabited since then. The nature lovers will enjoy the river reserves and wildlife sanctuaries of the area. Culinary specialities from land and sea await your discovery. The famous wine region “Chianti” is only 25 km away. Each of the two apartments has its own patio and garden, from which our guests can enjoy the panoramic views and peace.

A small pool is available.

Beside this, there are several rivers in the area (Merse, Pavone, farma and Cecina) with clean waters and good streams. The free and open thermal baths are in Petriolo, 30 km from Colloritto, where hot water flows in the river Farma, offering a hot-cold swimming option. Thermal baths with entrance fee also in Rapolano terme. A very nice public pool is in the town of Colle di Val d'Elsa.

Casole d’Elsa is the municipality town where our Property lies. It has been awarded of the “orange flag” as one of the best spots in Italy where nature, history and genuine food can be enjoyed together at their best. The area of Casole d’Elsa and Volterra was one of the centres of the Etruscan nation. All the pottery and jewellery found in the local tombs are shown in the Etruscan museums of Casole d’Elsa, Volterra and Colle Val d’Elsa. Elsa is the name of the river that flows northbound in the main valley, and joins the bigger “Arno” river near Empoli, leaving on its right side the hilly and more densely populated wine region “Chianti”. Between Colloritto and the sea instead, the quiet road heading south passes by the medieval town of Radicondoli, the geyser and minerary region of “Le colline Metallifere” now natural reserve, and the town of Massa Marittima with its stunning square and church in sight of the sea and Elba Island.

Inside the apartment there are 2 separate bedrooms, 1 fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast table. The big living room includes: A dining area with fireplace and a leisure area with sofas, satellite TV with over than 400 channels and a snooker (billiard). Outside the apartment there is a private panoramic garden and just in front of the main entrance a little portico with chairs facing sunset. A pool for children, that also adults can enjoy, is available.

We stayed at the Olmi House at Colloritto between 4th and 8th of April 2011. The owner, Gabriele, was very responsive and helpful during booking the house. The house was very clean, nicely decorated and has all the amenities you may need (including a WiFi) during a rural stay. The house has an amazing garden with a breathtaking view which is perfect for barbeque's and al fresco dining. The location is very close to Siena,Florence,and San Gimignano. The owners are extremely friendly, helpful and hospitable. We enjoyed our stay very much and would love to go back to Colloritto. We rate our experience as excellent.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Our vacations has passed like one second and we want to thank you for really warm welcoming here on your Villa. we have enjoyed our stayvery much indeed because it is going to remain an unforgettable one. We will certainly give you best recommendations. we have stayed for a week and would appreciate to return to your place as soon as possible. Everybody who looks for an escape out of the chaotic city life, wants to learn more about italian cooking, traditions and wants to compete with italian drivers on the twisted Tuscan motorways, has to come here.

Colloritto est un endroit merveilleux où j’ai envie de revenir chaque année. La maison, une ancienne ferme restaurée, est située au cœur d’un paysage de collines avec une vue à 360 degrés sur la campagne toscane qui est particulièrement belle le matin tôt ou au coucher de soleil . Les environs sont vraiment très riches culturellement (Sienne, San Gimignano, Volterra…) mais aussi des villes plus petites moins connues mais pleines de charme comme Colle Val d’Elsa, Casole d’Elsa… on peut faire aussi beaucoup de promenades à pied ou à vélo (si on est sportif…) ou encore aller jusqu’au bord de la mer. Gabriele et Patrizia sont très accueillants et savent bien nous renseigner sur les sites à visiter ; ils font aussi de merveilleux bijoux en céramique, expression de créativité, mélange de poésie et de souvenirs qui m’accompagnent toute une année en attendant de revenir à Colloritto.
