Photos and Description of the Elba vacation apartment rental

The apartment is at the top floor of a two floors house, right in the famous central square of the village. It has been recently restored. It has 50 sq. meters. It has a living room (a 6 persons table, a sofa, an armchair) with a kitchen corner (fully equipped), a double bedroom, another room with a bunk bed, a big bathroom, 2 balconies (one on the square, the other watching towards Montecristo Island). It's perfect for 4 persons, but there is an extra bed. It has cotto floor, good equipment, nice furniture and many comforts (TV, stereo, washing machine). Air condition is available. I can send more pictures by e-mail on request.

Capoliveri is a lovely ancient village 167 meters above the sea, at the beginning of the wonderful and wild peninsula of Monte Calamita. It was a miners' town, as the area is rich of minerals. It's the best conserved village of the island, with its characteristic coloured houses and narrows alleys. During the summer it's well animated, with a lot of cultural and folkloristic events. It offers everything for shopping and for enjoying your holiday. As it's on a hill, you can have a wonderful view of the gulfs and the islands around (Pianosa, Montecristo, Corsica). The sea is all around and you can easily reach it walking for 10 - 15 minutes or by car, bus, bike or scooter (there are rentals in the village). Elba Island has a lot of beaches, the water is really transparent and the nature of the country is lovely. It's good for swimming, trekking and biking, visiting historical and artistic sites and other islands.

Charmante Wohnung mit tollem Blick mitten in Capoliveri, dem wohl quirligtsen und schönsten Ort der Insel. Obwohl uns die sehr freundliche Vermieterin faiererweise von Anfang an auf die Lebendigkeit der Piazza hingewisen hat, haben wir uns am Anfang aufgrund einer sich im Haus befindlichen Nachtbar schwergetan - nach Eingewöhnung ging´s dann - die Bar ist wohl nur in der Saison (Juli-Sept?) geöffnet. Die positive Seite: Kurze Wege zum Einkaufen, Restaurants, Café (sobald unser Racker - 1 Jahr - schlief waren wir mit Babyfon überall dabei :-)
Ein Kritikpunkt: Das Küchengeschirr verträgt eine Erneuerung inkl. Gasherd, der immer mal für eine Stichflamme beim Anzünden gut war.

Insgamt haben wir einen tollen Urlaub verlebt und uns mitten im elbanischen Leben gefühlt.
