This newly refurbished Georgian apartment, situated in a leafy square in the historic New Town, is only five minutes from the most exclusive shops, theatres, restaurants, music and comedy clubs.
We were a family of 7 traveling through the UK. The place was perfect! Great access to the downtown area, the castle and the festivals, a nice walk! Easy access to bus which was right outside the place and free parking two blocks over on Pilrig Street! Our only regret is not staying longer! We would stay here again.
Bedrooms were great because they were quiet and the central living area was huge, a great place to congregate! Kitchen had all necessary appliances. Shopping close by and great restaurants on the street!
A great place!
The overall experience of staying is this apartment was fantastic. We were three families with five children travelling together. We were lucky to find this apartment as the four bed room really suited us well. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. We liked the spacious living room with a dinner table across the room where we spend most of the time together when we were not outside. The kitchen was also wonderful, we did a lot of cook there. The place location is not far from the train station and bus station where we kept our luggage before we checked in since we arrive little early in the morning. We enjoy to walk here and there from the apartment even though it was not the warmest day of the year. Peter was very approachable and he returned our deposit with no hassle. We all were very pleased with this trip and will recommend this apartment to anyone who travel to Edinburgh with families or friends.
The apartment is in a great location so that we walked to most of the sites we wanted to see. There are many pubs and restaurants close by so that you can end your day close to home. We had a rental car for trips out of Edinburgh. You can park in front of the apartment in the evening and on weekends for free but the rest of the time we parked on Pilrig Street (half a mile away not 2 blocks as another reviewer described but still an easy walk). The apartment has 4 large bedrooms so that the whole family could spread out well. Peter was easy to work with and returned my security deposit very promptly. He always got right back to us when we needed more internet ( a must when you have 4 children in their 20's). The apartment is very old being in the historic part of town but everything we needed worked well. The carpeting is a bit old and dingy but overall the apartment was clean. We had a terrific trip!
11 of us were here for a Hen weekend and the apartment was great. I wouldn't call it '4 bedroom' it's 4 bedrooms then a lounge with some sofa beds in. The wifi also doesn't work, but apart from that it's sound. The girl who organised it, didn't realise we had to be out by 10.00 on the last day (yes it did say so in the small print, but these things happen). The cleaners arrived and we were out SUPER quick and very apologetic. The people that arrived were frosty and grumpy, despite the fact we were in their way for all of 10 mins. Then they charged us a sizeable extra fee because of it! Because I rushed out the door so fast (frankly scared of the grumpy folks) I left a dress. I called the cleaning lady who was actually really sweet and said she'd post it to me. I offered to pay and she said that to be honest it didn't cost much and the owner probably wouldn't charge. The next day I got a bill for three times the amount it cost to post it.
Just stingy really. It's a shame when people care more about the pennies than good old fashioned customer service. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Shame as it's a nice place.
A fantastic stay in Edinburgh. The flat was beautifully kept, comfy and had plenty of space for all of us.
The location was perfect - the square is quiet, with a lovely grocery nearby. Excellent proximity to Princes St, George St and Carlton Hill.
Peter was a pleasure to contact, tremendous help organising and arranged the stay flawlessly. Big thumbs up!
Many thanks again!
We were two families having a holiday together: 4 adults and 4 teenagers. The most worth seeing places were practically next door and the apartment was very spacious. In the apartment there was space for having a good time together and on the other hand the bedrooms were also big and offered peaceful private area during our joint family holiday - helping everyone keep in good mood… The kitchen was practically equipped (we found even the smallest things we realized a need for). Communication with the owner was prompt and correct.
