About Christine Joli-Coeur

Randy and I have lived in the area for almost 20 years, both natives of Quebec so we do speak French. We ended up in this area when I moved for work and Randy followed. Randy currently works as a realtor in the area and I work full time as a consultant.

Why Christine Joli-Coeur chose Cornwall

Having grown up in Quebec city and travelled along the Eastern Seaboard of Canada and the US this area offer the beauty of comfort and things to do. Comfort of the home to enjoy meals together with family or friends, a quiet coffee looking out on the river, space for a soccer or volleyball challenge or a peaceful paddle in the kayak. Activities are numerous particularly in the summer just drive North, South, East or West and you will find fun for the family or friends. We border on the US so if heading South to explore Ogdensburg, Canton, Alexandria Bay NY bring your passport.

What makes this cottage unique

Having been renters of other cottages we work hard to make sure that the cottages are well kept and not to dissapoint and that the price is affordable. This cottage has a double level deck that overlooks the water with breathtaking views of the St. Lawrence at any time of year.

Great Little Place on the Water

  • 5 of 5

Great little chalet. Everything worked and it was very clean. Christine was very prompt with answering questions and even brought sleds to our house when we asked for them.

We went on a snowy February weekend and had a blast eating and drinking and being merry, enjoying the view and sledding down the hill in front of the place.

I can only imagine how awesome it would be over the summer.

Owner's Response: Hello Thank you for your message. Winter is one of my favorite times out by the cottage, sliding down the hill/ playing in the snow or relaxing by the fire playing games and enjoying time with family and friends. The cottage offers beautiful views all year round. Have a fantastic day;)

A Fanastic Place on the St Lawrence River

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Twin Oaks. It is exactly as the photos are shown. We also did a lot of adventures away from our home as we like to learn about the area we are visiting. At Prescott we went to the Market on Sat. and did the shops, marina and the beach. We saw Fort Wellington and the Battle of the Windmill area which has a lovely picnic spot at the water's edge. We went to Upper Canada Village and stopped at the Iroquois locks to watch a ship go through. We went to Ottawa for Canada Day and Kingston on Wed for the Sunset ceremony at Fort Henry and the ghost tour there (when you go to Upper Canada Village you get fee tickets for Fort Henry.) After learning more about the building of the St Lawrence Seaway, we decided we should go to the Lost Villages Museum at Long Sault then we did a play at Upper Canada Playhouse at Morrisburg. We enjoyed each area we went to. Yes we did have time to also have fun on the river at Twin Oakes. Went swimming but nice we brought pool noodles as the bottom is rather squishy and we used the kayaks which was lots of fun. Great views of the ships going by and lots of small boats and birds to watch too. Thanks C & R!

And the deep fried cheese curds with salsa at O'Heaphy's on King St in Prescott are so yummy!

Great house on St. Lawrence

  • 5 of 5

The house was great. Our family of 6 had plenty of space. The view was fantastic and we had an added bonus of watching about 30 goslings hang around daily for breakfast.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much yes for your review. There is lots of action on the river with the goslings, the malards and their clan and the birds that dive into the water to catch fish. If you are really quiet you will also see hummingbirds and lots of other wild life. We look forward to your next visit;) Christine

Boy's fishing trip

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at Twinoaks for the past three years and have always had very good stay .The owners Randy and Christine have always been very accommodating.

The same four of us have stayed for our annual boy's fishing trip and everything we need is at this cottage. Some of the best in the area if not the best walleye and pike fishing is right at the front door.

Twin Oaks Cottage, Cardinal, ON at Gallop Canals/Thousand Islands

  • 5 of 5

My family and friends had a wonderful time in Twin Oaks Cottage in April 2014. The cottage is meters (a couple of meters to be more precise) away from the St Lawrence River, prividing a wonderful view (the best view at around 5-6 am) from master bedroom. It has enough space for outdoor family/activities and a volleyball court at the upper terrace. It is secluded enough to enjoy your privacy. Kayaks, canoes and life vests are included along with firewood for bon fire. Fully equipped kitchen encourages cooking and helps in spending more time with family/friends. Perfect base for sightseeing trips to Brockville, Prescott, Cardinal and the nation's capital, Ottawa and to go over to Ogdensberg, New York...Totally a fun stay...A repeat stay this year and more to follow in the future ;-).

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review. Being so close to the water definately allows for a Fantastic scenery. I personally love having my coffee out on the deck in the early morning before the family is up and listening and watching the birds fly over the water or when watching the kids playing in the water or in the sand while BBQing on the deck. We look forward to your next visit;) Christine
