This extremely spacious apartment is part of the prestigious, recently re-developed, Holm Park, a former Victorian villa. The imposing grade ‘B’ listed building stands on an elevated site with splendid views over the attractive Victorian spa town of Moffat (Dumfries and Galloway) - an eight-minute walk away - and towards the Moffat hills. There is gas central heating, dedicated private car parking and a covered area for cycles.

This elegant first floor front apartment (Tourist Board four star rated) boasts many of the villa’s original features, allowing you to experience the spaciousness and style of the Victorian age combined with all the modern comforts. The apartment - which has just been completely redecorated - is within easy walking distance of Moffat’s attractive centre.

The 24 ft long drawing room offers impressive views from the large bay window. All the furnishings are of a high standard and include a dining table and a good quality sofa bed, which can sleep two. There’s a TV with digibox, hard-drive/DVD recorder, video and a music system plus ipod speakers/docking station. The master bedroom (5ft bed) has an ensuite. The spacious second bedroom has twin beds but if not required, the room - which has a piano - can be arranged as a sitting room. A portable TV can be viewed in either room.

The 16 ft kitchen is fully fitted and equipped with breakfast table, cooker, fridge, freezer, washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave and various other small appliances. The bathroom is stylishly tiled and includes an over-bath shower. If the apartment looks more like a home than a holiday let, that’s because it is the owners’ home in Scotland and consequently was furnished and equipped with an attention to detail.

Luxourious and comfortable - well equiped kitchen - a real home from home. This flat certainly deserved its 4 star rating and we look forward to more visits in the future.

Absolutely magnificent! We were expecting it to be nice, from the description, but it exceeded all our expectations. There was nothing that we needed that wasn't there.

The apartment is wonderful and was far beyond our expectations. Everyone was gushing about how fantastic our accommodation was.

The flat is excellently equipped and very pleasantly decorated and furnished. Everything was clean and in good order. We were delighted. The flat had all the "comforts" of home but without any sense of "trespassing" in others' 'private space'.

A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO STAY...

The accommodation exceeded all of our expectations - the photos on the website do not do this beautiful apartment justice. The apartment sits imposingly at the top of a winding hill and overlooks Moffat and the surrounding hills. We found the place easily and as we parked up in the designated spot we were met by the friendly caretaker who helped to carry our bags up the wide, dark-wood staircase with its incredible stained glass arched window, to the first floor.The first thing which struck us was the sheer enormity of the flat! it actually took me 3 days to remember which room was which as I wandered from one to another. The hallway is huge with polished wooden floors which gave way to the enormous drawing room, furnished comfortably and elegantly. The sofas are large and squishy, perfect for curling up on in front of the fire (it's electric with fake flames but does give a cosy feel to the room). The large bay window overlooks the town below and you can see all the way across to the sheep-strewn hills and watch the sun slip down behind them of an evening which is rather pleasant. There is a dining table in here and a large coffee table. There are games, DVDs, videos, CDs and curiosities hidden in cupboards and bookshelves around the flat to keep you occupied.You have the option of having the 2nd bedroom as a day room if no beds are required - in our case the beds were made into a sofa covered in cushions. There is a very nice desk in front of the large window - perfect for writing. There is also a piano, wardrobes, bookshelf, TV and DVDs in this room as well as tourist literature. The master bedroom is a good size, nicely decorated and ensuite with a good shower cubicle within. There is a large chest of drawers and mirror to use as a dressing table and lots of storage space with large built-in wardrobes.The view from this window is lovely, all hills with pine trees. Said window is bedecked with long, heavy red curtains to shut out the light when you need to. The master bathroom is a really good size, nicely decorated with dark green tiles. My only complaint was that it took quite a while to fill a bath full of hot water. However, there is a shower in the bath so it's preferable to just use that instead. The kitchen was large and roomy with table and chairs with every piece of equipment you could possibly need and more besides - perfect. The apartment was very quiet and peaceful and roughly a 10 minute stroll to town, which was very handy. Loved it.

The holiday home more than exeeded our expectations. It was a perfect base.We wouldn't have wished for better. The accommodation is more than worthy of its tourist board four star rating and I am sure that when any of the family go to Moffat in the future this will be their first choice for accommodation.
