Meldon Park was built for Isaac Cookson in 1832 by the architect John Dobson and to this day is still the home of the Cookson family. Guests have access to the private grounds and the surrounding land which offers extensive wooded walks along the banks of the River Wansbeck. Also worth a visit is the walled garden which provides fruit, flowers and vegetables for the house. One of the gardens specialities is the wide variety of young and mature rhododendrons, which cover the grounds with a multitude of colour in May and June.
The tranquility of the kitchen, garden and grounds, the elegance and grandeur of the house provide a venue for a relaxing and inspiring holiday.
