The town of Alcossebre is one of the most pleasant unspoilt resorts on the Costa del Azahar and is a typical Spanish town where many people from Barcelona and Madrid spend their annual holidays, giving a taste of the Real Spain. You will not see the usual high rise apartment blocks That said, the town is lively and buzzing with local shops, banks, Internet cafes, tapas bars, seafront cafes and good restaurants, excellent medical centre, and tourist information. The tree lined promenade links Alcossebre with the unique Las Fuentes area, where fresh water springs appear in a random fashion along the beach. There is a lively Marina, cycle hire, mountain & coastal walks. To the North a footpath follows the coast for about 15KM all the way to Peniscola, an ancient fortress town. local festivals to enjoy. For those who enjoy wildlife, the Ebro Delta is less than an hours drive north, where you can take both river & sea trips for fishing, or enjoy the walks or the beach and bird watching.

For those inclined to a variety of other challenging activities, there are 2 superb golf courses 40 minutes drive away, Panoramica Golf, an 18 hole Bernhard Langer course, near Vinaros and Mediterraneo, an 18 hole Sergio Garcia course near Castellon. There is Premier La Liga football with Barcelona, Valencia & Villareal within striking distance. There is a Water World Park at Benicassim and the Universal Studios Theme Park at Port Aventura about an hour's drive to the north. A large Go-Karting track is situated on the outskirts of Peniscola just 10 minutes way from Alcossebre. At Orepesa is Europe’s largest saltwater spa, Marina d'Or. There are excellent facilities for skiing at Valdernares, in winter. Visit medieval mountain villages such as Morella, or the monastery and viewpoint at El Pinar, Villafames and Peniscola, (which provided the setting for the Hollywood film El Cid). Valencia and Castellon are excellent for shopping.
