Facing out to sea in a sheltered position on Toe Head peninsula this peaceful retreat commands superb sea views. Half a mile from a shingle beach, 2 miles from a sandy beach. The nearby picturesque village of Castletownshend (4 miles) offers a shop, traditional pubs and restaurants. Excellent shopping, music and festivals can be found in Skibbereen (6 miles). Moynihans’ is a large bungalow with a separate self-contained annex, ideal for grandparents or two families holidaying together. Main accommodation comprises living room opening to dining room, fully fitted kitchen with breakfast area (and wonderful sea views!), one double, two twin and one single bedroom (with wash basin). Bathroom (with shower over bath), separate WC. Annex comprises living room (with sofa bed), kitchen, shower room, separate WC, double bedroom. Central heating, CD player, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, large garden, patios front and rear with outdoor table and chairs.

The bungalow is located on the rugged Toe Head peninsula which is a remote part of West Cork, 4 miles from the nearest village, Castletownshend, and 6 miles from the nearest town, Skibbereen. Baltimore is 8 miles away and offers boat trips to Sherkin Island and Cape Clear. Union Hall (with a selection pubs which serve food and shops, including an excellent fish mongers) is approximately 6 miles away and pretty Glandore is approximately 8 miles away. Further a field are Clonakilty (approximately 17 miles) and Skull (a village bustling with tourists) 22 miles away. Cork city centre is approximately 55 miles.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Bookings are secured by a 25% deposit (unless you are making a booking less than 49 days before the start of your holiday). This is the first installment towards the cost of your holiday and incorporates your booking deposit which is non-returnable. The balance of payment is due six weeks before you start your holiday. Prices are in Euro and exclude the cost of electricity (by meter) and bed linen. Prices shown are for 7 nights. Additional nights may be agreed by prior arrangement and will be charged at one seventh the weekly rate. If you require bed linen (beds will be made ready for your arrival) this will be charged at 4 Euro per single and 6 Euro per double bed per change of linen. Please note that a security deposit of 127 Euro for the first 2 weeks plus 32 Euro per week thereafter is payable on arrival; this will be returned once costs for electricity and any breakages or damage costs have been deducted.

  • In the main accommodation there are 4 bedrooms; one double, two twin and one single. The double and one twin have fabulous sea views. The second twin and the single room are to the rear of the property. All bedrooms have ample wardrobe space (all but the single have built in large wardrobes) and draw units for storage. The single room has a wash basin/vanity unit. In the annex accommodation there is one small double bedroom and in the living room there is a small double sofa bed and a built in wardrobe.

The kitchen in annex has a 4 ringed cooker with grill and oven, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and tumble dryer. The living accommodation in the main accommodation has a sofa and two armchairs (there are additional armchairs in the bedrooms) and leads to a dining area with a large table that accommodates 11 seated (maximum occupancy). The living area in the annex has a sofa bed, dresser and storage draws. Bed linen can be provided at an extra cost. Tea towels are available.
