Family owned apartment in Lauterbrunnen. One bedroom with 2 singles and another single which can be converted to a double.Living room has sofa bed, TV, DVD player and stereo. Bathroom with bath and shower. Kitchen is small but well equipped with dishwasher, cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer. Balcony overlooking Staubbach waterfall. Private basement utility and store room with washing machine and drier. Shared games room with table tennis. Sauna is shared and costs 1Chf. Wi-fi. Ski and boot room in basement. Private car port. Located at end of village. Lauterbrunnen shops are 5 min walk and station 10 min. Station trains take you by cable car to Murren and cog railway to Wengen and the ski slopes above. Bus stops are 50m from front door and goes to Lauterbrunnen station and also to Stechelberg cable car station, from where you can get to Murren and the top of the Schilthorn. Property suits couple or family with children. Easy access to skiing in Bernese Oberland. Walking all year.

Lauterbrunnen is situated in the valley below Wengen and Murren with easy access to Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn. It is a picturesque traditional Swiss village with some bars, hotels with excellent restaurants and shops including a bakery, a butcher, COOP supermarket, ski wear and hire and cycle hire. There is an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court and mini golf. Interlaken and Grindelwald 10 miles away by car or train. Spectacular alpine flowers in the spring, great family skiing in winter and wonderful walking all year round. Local attractions are Trummelbach Falls, Jungfraujoch (highest mountain station in the world), Schynigge Platte (an oasis of alpine flowers), Schilthorn with revolving restaurant (as seen in vintage James Bond) home of the Lauberhorn down hill ski race in Jan and Mystery theme park at Interlaken.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A non-refundable deposit of GBP 150 is required to confirm a booking. Balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival date. The minimum stay is 5 nights due to cost of changeover, but we will consider shorter stays subject to demand and negotiation. The rate is based on 2 persons sharing and for any extra persons, there is a supplement of CHF 25 per person per stay. Local tourist tax is paid directly to the owner prior to arrival. Adult tourist tax is CHF2.80 per night - children 6 - 16 yrs CHF 1.10 per night.

We are a family of 4 with 2 young boys who stayed at this property for 9 nights in June and July 2009. What a great find! the location in Lauterbrunnen was perfect as it was only a few minute, easy walk to the shops and train station. The unit was well equipped with everything to make our stay pleasant. Our communications with the owner were easy and he promptly responded to all our questions and concerns (and we had quite a few) and he was flexible in letting us add a few days to the standard rental period of 7 days. The new addition of wireless internet was a great benefit as it allowed us to get info and stay in contact with home via the internet.

The bedroom setup, although tight for space with all the beds set up, was good and allowed us to all sleep on nice comfortable beds and to not have to use the pull out couch that was there as well.

Overall, for those looking for a comfortable place in a great location, we felt this was a great choice.

Propbably the best apartment we have ever stayed in.The facilities within the apartment were excellent and the view from the patio was wonderful.
It is within easy reach of all of the shops and there is a bus stop just around the corner. I have recommended this apartment to all of my friends and we will certainly be staying there in the future.
As the restaurants can be expensive we decided to cook all of our meals in the apartment and eat outside on the patio overlooking the Staubach falls and listening to the stream. Perfect.
Thankyou so much for making this a perfect location.

A Beautiful House in a Stunning Location

I have to say this was our best holiday ever. The house itself is in the midst of some of beautiful and stunning scenery. All the rooms overlook a Waterfall. The house itself was very comfortable to stay and we enjoyed every bit of the facilities provided. The instructions given to us was very precise and clear. I would not have any hesitation to recommend this place to my friends and our family are also considering to come back to Ey Hus next year.

A great place to stay

We have rediscovered the beautiful village of Lauterbrunnen in recent years and have spent a summer week staying at Ey Haus for 3 consecutive years. The location is great with a bus stop almost outside the door. The walk to the station takes about 10 mins although it is up hill. It's convenient for the shops, and the Horner pub where one can enjoy a pint, and a very reasonably priced BBQ after a hard days walk.

Ey Haus is clean, cosy and comfortable and the views from the balcony up the valley are amazing whatever the weather. Evenings spent in are particularly enjoyable watching some of the old videos that are available.

A great place to stay.
