unsuitable for relaxation-2garden chairs +a small round glass table being the only furniture besides a bed &wardrobe. The agent was extremely helpful and did her best to improve the ameneties. No mention was made in the advert of there being no telephone and as an elderly couple we were without means of either contacting the agent or summoning help in an emergency as the property is about 4Km from Kimberley. We feel that the apartment is unsuitable as a separate dwelling but ideal for families or friends as there is a connecting door to the adjoining property.the area is beautiful with several good restaurants and stunning scenery. It is not wheelchair accessible.
Owner's Response: The couple called the day before leaving for their holiday and I took them on trust that they would go to the property without a contract, deposit etc. From the minute they arrived, they made our friend's life a misery. The advertisement is accurate in its entirety but they complained about everything, despite the luxury of the flat. It was pointed out that this was a studio (as it says in the advertisement) and everything in the apartment was new and luxurious but they appeared to be angling for her to open up the connecting door into the other luxury unit 991 and allow them to use that unit (with hot tub, parking, sitting room etc) for free. They "suggested" that unless she let them use the next door apartment for free that they would make a "complaint" to holiday-rentals. I refused to intimidated by this as they had paid for exactly what they had asked for. In fact, we bought a new table and chairs for them and then when they complained about those chairs, our friend took the other dining chairs from 991 and put them in to the studio for them!
They did not ask if there was a phone when they booked the premises. The apartment is on the Kimberley slope, which if you are elderly and infirm is a strange place to choose for a four day break.
