CasalFattoria is an early XX-century farmhouse, strategically located between Rome's downtown and country, just 8 miles to the city centre, set in a large well-kept gated garden, with parking and children's play area inside, on top of a quiet and breezy hill, which is now fully restored and transformed into modern flats. Our property is an attractive two-storied apartment, completely renovated and refurnished by a team of young roman architects, which reflects the owner's passion and style. Luxury, comfort and design are its main features throughout: beautiful stone and wooden floors, lavish marble bathrooms, chestnut wooden beams on the ceilings, a picturesque fireplace, a private internal staircase and top-class fixtures, fittings, furniture and equipments. CasalFattoria is one mile outside the Rome ring road; just inside begins the town, so the location is actually rural, but at the same time just close by the town; in particular, it's located definitely at eight miles from the Colosseum & Piazza Venezia, the very heart of Rome! More, it's very easy to get there by bus + subway (bus stop leading directly to the subway at 800 feet), by car + subway (subway station at only 3 miles, with big, safe and cheap parking), or directly by car. More, a superstore open on Sunday morning too is less than 1 mile far! Moreover, the location of CasalFattoria on the southern edge of Rome, so near to the ring road, is also perfect for getting quickly to both the roman airports of Fiumicino & Ciampino, for visiting the wonderful archaeological area of Ostia Antica with the roman seaside & the famous lakes & vineyards district on the Albani Hills around Frascati, & for taking the highway toward Naples, Pompei, Florence & the whole wondering Italy!

This beautiful Rome apartment had everything we needed for a perfect week! Although out in the country, it was very easy to get to the center of Rome using public transportation. The setting is lovely, and the accommodations were perfect. A wonderful market is very close by, and the kitchen facilities were great for cooking in several meals. The beds are comfy, the baths are lovely, the countryside just spectacular. We would recommend this as a great alternative to pricey hotels.

A truly fantastic apartment

This is a very special apartment. The interior architecture is lovely and very natural. There is plenty of space outside for the kids to run around and its proximity to Rome central and many other locations is fantastic.

We loved staying here and the kindnesss shown by Stefano and Gabriel was impressive.

We will be back, if only to go to the wonderful beaches at Fregene.

Excellent and convenient place in Rome

This is an excellent place to stay in the Rome vicinity as it is so convenient to the grocery and train station. We were a group of 7 people and everyone had their own beds and the place really caters to that. The grocery store down the hill is very convenient and offers a great variety of supplies that you need while the Laurentina train station (Last stop of the A line) is only a couple miles away where you can drive to and pay minimal parking or take the bus from the property. I don't recommend driving in Rome as I really couldn't see where one would park a vehicle, especially a van. The train is really the best way to get around and you can get a daily unlimited pass for only 6 Euros.

The house itself is very comfortable and the owner emails you an excellent document before the arrival which tells you everything you need about the house and the area. The free wifi was a great bonus as well. Two full bathrooms (1 on the main floor and the other on the 2nd floor) is nice and it has a washer and dryer and soap and fabric softener is included. The kitchen is well equipped and there are actually some spices and other supplies that I make up were left overs from previous renters. The house is an old transformed farm house and is very quiet. Love that it felt very remote yet only less than a mile from everything you needed. Don't forget to visit the open market on Laurentina - only 1-2 miles away from the property.

I will definitely stay at this place again and I highly recommend it especially for families!
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Christmas stay at CasalFattoria

Our family of four stayed at CaselFattoria for our two week Christmas holiday and enjoyed our time exploring Rome. We chose this location due to its reasonable price and its rural setting knowing that we would have to trade off some daily travel time. It only took a few trips on bus 797 or 044 and then the metro to get our bearings and then it was easy to plan our days. As our Lonely Planet guide book took us to the best sights and places to eat (a must to find original restaurants), we walked off the extra calories and were awed by the layers of history. Stefano and his brother Gabriel were quick to assist us when asked, and the villa gave us the space and comforts we needed. While we'd recommend a coat of paint to freshen it up, it had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The all-inclusive price is great when you have teenagers using the internet and you have to turn up the heat! In the mornings you can pet the cats and dog on your way to the bus and feel like a resident as you bring back your groceries and wine for the evening meal.
