Located in the Beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains overlooking the quaint little town of Clayton, Ga.Close to many activities or just to unwind. Whitewater River rafting, fishing golf great restaurants and a breath taking view of Black Rock Mountain and surrounding mountains. We are located 7 miles south of North Carolina and 5 miles west of South Carolina. If you are looking for Gatlinburg you might want to keep looking but if you would like to visit Gatlinburg we are an hour and a half due south. Most of the water in Georgia comes from our mountains and we are blessed with many lakes and rivers, the Chattooga being the crown jewel of the southern whitewater rivers.Lake Burton,Seed,Rabun,Tallulah and Tugelo are all very close.Lots of activities in the area or just sitting on the porch and looking at a beautiful view.If you enjoy wine there are a good many vineyards. Helen the beautiful little Bavarian Town is 38 miles southwest and an easy drive. Please note being in the mountains this is a mountain driveway but it is short and all concrete and very stable.

Bill Setzer purchased this cabin in 2008
This property has it all. It is comfortable and cozy with a beautiful view.Large enough for a family with plenty of activities in the area or just sitting on the porch isn't bad
We purchased Williebear Cabin July 2008.It was built in 1999 but never used.We looked at many properties in the area and many had a 'winter view'.Not this one.The view is panoramic and the highlights are Black Rock Mountain,Pinnacle and Saddle Gap North Carolina. This home has the cozy appeal but also has plenty of room for 8-10 people. It is on 2 1/2 levels and is mainly wood floors and walls. The fireplace is stone and puts out a lot of heat.
Mr bill we arrived about 4pm on 8th after loading up on food for the week, to a great cabin with everything you might want. The cabin was very roomey for 6 people. More fishing rods that anyone could use and more. We spent all day monday whitewater rafting on the chatooga river on section IV, the one for crazey people. WE loved it. It was a great week just to hang out. Thanks mr bill for great cabin, and looking forward to getting back there. P.S. love that DRIVEWAY... Elliot......
We arrived late on a Thursday afternoon, thinking we'd have to rush to the store for supplies. Not needed as all the essentials for at least a week-long stay are provided. Such a pleasant surprise. The cabin was plenty comfortable for our party of 4 adults the first night and 6 adults the next two nights. Plenty of towels, paper products, glasses, plates & utensils, kitchen spices, etc. Even plenty of starter logs & wood for the easy-to-operate fireplace. My goodness the views of the lighted cross up in the mountains at night, the sun setting behind the mountains at dusk, and the pure beauty of nature at sunrise and throughout the day were awe-inspiring! Though we didn't bring our beloved Beagle baby, she would have been welcomed and comfortable at Willie Bear cabin. The cabin is beautiful, clean, and has everything one could need for a peaceful stay.
We got there late.. well early on Thursday morning about 230.. could not see to much then.. but after we got up it took our breath away.. it was .. well plainly put.. gorgeous...the view was stunning.. one morning we woke up to see we were actually above the clouds.. the cabin was rustic and accomdating... The owners.. wonderful.. I would personally like to say.. thank you Bill and Karen for loaning us your cabin.. it is something we will never forget..
My husband and I researched many cabins in the Georgia region and was delighted to find the Wille Bear Cabin in Clayton. We were also seeking a pet friendly cabin for our dog too which Mr. Bill gladly welcomes. The pictures online were so inviting but actually walking in the cabin was even more a delight. It was beautiful, clean, and had everything you needed for comfort. The view from the balcony was like a little piece of heaven and my husband and couldn't get over how peaceful it was. The week we were there was wonderful and I have to tell you that we will be back when we get another week vacation! Willie Bear Cabin is a great place to stay at a reasonable rate. Mr. Bill try's very hard to make your stay the absolute best! Thank you so much for all you did for my husband and I.
This week was a gift we shared together for our 28th wedding anniversary. Mr. Bill's timely email correspondence was a great start in planning a memorable week together. The moment we arrived we felt like a welcomed Guest in The Willie Bear Cabin (thank you again for the thoughtful card and bottle of wine waiting for us to celebrate our Anniversary :)). This lovingly decorated cabin has ALL the comforts of home (comfortable beds, blankets, fully equipped kitchen and FULL size washer and dryer, even a swing!) with the added bonus of AMAZING views of the Mountains. We live in Florida and to wake up each morning (we decided to stay in the Loft - so cute!) and instantly be greeted with the mountain range was truly spectacular! Our two grown children joined us mid week and said, "WHOA, we have the WHOLE downstairs to ourselves?!" They really enjoyed their individual space, and our privacy was nice as well. The upstairs common area with a beautifully built fireplace was so nice to share together. Mr. Bill was very generous to provide us with all the firewood we consumed, and it was ALOT! My husband enjoyed making a fire EVERY morning and EVERY night, what a special way to wake up and go to bed, especially in cooler weather! The extra touches of bird feeders, (birdseed provided, so we feed the birds and enjoyed listening to them sing for us) brochures, walking sticks, and lists of things to do in the area were very thoughtful and helpful. I must say this was the most physically active we have ever been on a vacation, simply because the Waterfalls(Anna Ruby Falls was the most romantic and Whitewater was HUGE) and hikes (Whiteside Mountain and The Tallulah Falls Gorge were our faves) ARE AMAZING and we didn't want to miss a thing. We even visited a vineyard for a tasting and tour. (12 Spies - Karen and Tim are awesome!) We have already booked our next vacation at the Willie Bear cabin in October and all four of our children will be coming. We look forward to seeing the area in full FALL bloom, and possibly going fishing. I just hope we will relax a little more in the inviting comfy cabin! Thank you again Mr. Bill and Karen for making our Anniversary week so memorable!
We live in Atlanta and needed to find a peaceful place to spend the weekend. This cabin feels like home! Has everything you could possibly need for cooking and enjoying yourself. The view of the mountains is great from the fabulous deck. We spent the rest of the time by the fire and enjoyed the tranquility.
