Casa Clementina is located in the Monti quarter, the oldest neighbourhood of Rome, at a few minutes walk from the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. It’s a 70 square meters apartment on the second floor with an elevator. It has a capacity of maximum three persons and is provided with an ADSL-connection.
The apartment has a spacious entrance, a sitting room, a big room with a bed corner and a dining corner separated by a screen, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. You will find everything necessary for a wonderful and comfortable stay in Rome. There’s a vast collection of books (novels, art, design, fashion and cinema) and CDs (from classical music to modern lounge) and all the rooms are decorated with modern and antique artworks.
To move around freely on Rome’s seven hills you have two mountainbikes at your disposal.
Casa Clementina is the perfect place where you can feel completely at home and relax after visiting Rome, having a glass of wine in the sunny sitting room. Although you’re in the heart of Rome, the apartment and the trafficless street are so silent that you have the impression of being in the countryside.
‘Monti’ is one of the most lively and cozy Roman neighbourhoods: it’s full of nice traditional and trendy restaurants; terraces; design, antique and fashion shops.
It’s also very well connected to all historical sites and Piazza Navona, the Trevi fountain and Piazza di Spagna are at ten minutes walk.
Our recent fortnight in Rome in Toenke & Alessandro's apartment was a delight. It was quiet, warm on cold days & could be cooled by opening windows in hot weather. The bed was comfortable, & we were able to cook our own meals from excellent ingredients from the nearby supermarket. As we are an older couple we appreciated all this. However in addition we enjoyed the modern art collection as well as the substantial library which included many very useful books on Rome. Both our hosts are interesting people who generously left us quite a lot of food & necessities. Alessandro spent some time on our arrival introducing us to the locality & advising on food & other shopping, & Toenke called for a chat & to make sure we had all we needed. The local area is vibrant - quite our favourite of all our explorations in Rome, & bursting with little restaurants & enticing shops. We can recommend this apartment very highly.
"Our trip to Rome was one of the best we had . The appartament in Via Clementina 5, Rome it's the perfect plece to stay and spend your holiday . We loved the neighbourhood and the fact that it was in the center and next to Cavour metro station so it was very easy to go everywhere in Rome . The market is near and there are many restaurants and caffebar's were you can eat a traditional italian meal . In one word this place mekes you feel like home ."
"This apartment is really lovely and the (Dutch-Italian) owners have a sophisticated sense of real hospitality. Already when you arrive it’s wonderful to not find an ‘empty fridge’ but all sorts of cheese, wine, fruitjuice, cookies, coffee etc. as a welcome gift from the owner. He personally shows you around in the neighbourhood to indicate restaurants, shops, supermarkets, metro etc. so you feel at home right away. The neighbourhood is one of most beautiful (and oldest) neighbourhoods in Rome, and very central, so can walk almost everywhere. The apartment itself is so silent and sunny that you almost have the impression of being in the countryside, not in the centre of Rome. It’s beautifully decorated and you have a whole library and hundreds of CD’s (and DVD’s) at your disposal to relax when you come home after a day of walking in Rome. Before we left (with pain in the heart) we booked to come back in this wonderful house next spring."
"The apartment is very lovely, cosy and clean. It`s designed very well and art. The bedroom is a little dark because is facing inner court of the building, but in Rome very hardly you can find an apartment with sunlight in every room. On this account the bedroom is quiet and very good for sleep. The library room is just splendid - light and quiet and various gender of books can evade you of sightseeing of the city.
The neighbourhood is very good and non touristic /I think it`s good/, full of little shops, nice tratorias and cafes. There is a good grocery shop.
The apartment is 5 min walking from Coloseo, 10-15 min walking from Fontana di Trevi /trough Piazza Quirinale/ and the historical center of Rome. The underground station is just around the corner.
The owner – is hospitable and ready to help."
