Villa Aphrodite is a stone built villa situated on a hill overlooking the traditional village of Gavalohori, 25km east of Chania Crete. Its unique architectural style is combined with modern facilities in order to provide an ideal environment for your comfort and relaxation. Villa Aphrodite is completely autonomous with 250 m2 of living space on a 650 m2 plot of land. It offers complete privacy with its own parking space for one vehicle, private garden and pool (pool is not overlooked). The villa can accommodate up to 6 persons. The villa is set among olive groves in the east side of Gavalohori 100 m from the village square where stores can be found. It offers a stunning view of the White Mountains. Villa Aphrodite is ideal for couples or families who wish to have luxurious accommodations within a quiet village setting with easy access to ocean (3km to Almirida, 10km to Georgoupolis) and very good night life (5km to Kalives and 30km to Chania.

Gavalohori is a traditional Cretan village situated in the Apokorona region about 3km inland from the coastal village of Almirida. Gavalohori is an old historical village with approximately 500 residents. It is a typical Cretan village with a small square where a cofee shop, a bakery, a mini mart, two tavernas and other convenient stores can be found. Several narrow streets branch off its center and one could wander through several interesting sections of this officially protected village. Stone built houses with lovely backyards full of colorful flowers can be found . A lot of interesting buildings can be seen, such as the 18th century two-roomed, arched olive oil press, the temples of Panagia and Agios Sergios, the old school, and the historical folk art museum. Within a short distance (5km) from tranquil Gavalohori one can drive to Almirida, a picturesque coastal village. You may dine there in one of several seaside tavernas or relax sipping your drink by a bar during sunset.

Villa Aphrodite was exactly what they promised. Customer service was good and friendly, and the property was well-maintained and in good condition. The pool area was great especially for adults. For the kids the pool may be too deep and there was no grass or space to play. Also a lot of stairs. We rented a car and I recommend it for others too. The nearest beach, Almyrida, is not in walking-distance. Gavalohori was a quiet but friendly village with a couple of tavernas and markets.

If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to spend a week or a two, this could be your choice. At least we liked it.

Hi,
I had a 10 days ta with kid and wife in August 2008. :)
Just to tell we had an great vacation at this Villa.
Everything was just great.
For exemple, when we arrived at 22h30 at the villa, a staff was waiting us with great food softs and wine...
If you are waiting from your holidays a certain "niveau" you will found it there.
The place in it self is super located at the top of a small village, the people who manage the villa are so kind and friendly.
The village is a real typical Cretian village.
No noice, unbeliavable view with the mountains in back view, super pool, great food (you can order).
What can I say more ....


I'm booking for this spring :)
with kid, wife, father, mother, and cousins...

In one word, if you need a relax and luxury Cretian stay.
Don't hesitate to book one of this villas.

My family stayed in Villa Aphrodite in may. We had such a wonderful time. The surroundings of the villa are amazing,and everything in the house is top quality. Do not hesitate to rent it, you are not going to be dissapointed!

Wir, eine Familie mit 4 Kindern, waren im Sommer 2008 in der Villa Aphordite. Alle beschriebenen Ausstattungsmerkmale waren vorhanden und in einem wirklich gehobenen Standard. Am schönsten ist die Terasse mit Blick auf die Berge und der herrliche Pool.
Mit der Betreuung vor Ort waren wir sehr zufrieden. Reinigung und Verpflegung bestens.
